Ffs he never said it was a requirement just that it would be nice if the nrl had the means and foresight to do the same

How bout you actually read his posts instead of using every one to continuously troll every thread
He’s praising afl for how to do expansion properly

so by his standard we should be the same

Can you blame him, every thread gets polluted by how well the AFL admins are throwing cash at every problem, and lobbying for stadia, and then trashes any headway nrl admin do, gets a bit monotonous, and the flip flop commentary on whats best for expansion for this code

Yes, they do it good, because they can afford to

Yes, we should be, but we can't afford to and obviously don't have the political know how to get external funding for what we want

Nope nrl is no second class citizen behind afl

I literally told Perth red they needed a new stadium and he said no an upgrade is fine

I also said the state govt should fund the club money each year and he said no chance

don’t be gloating about how well afl do expansion then say we should let Perth nrl team in regardless bc we aren’t afl

He's not wrong though, if we had the money the AFL does we would likely be taking the same approach

If the NRL doesn't publically commit to a location or atleast call for bids for team 18 this year then it's clear they have NFI what they are actually doing

Dolphins have been a success but they were always going to be, Brisbane 2 was decades overdue and was always going to be a safe expansion

I'd wager the only reason a true expansion market hasn't been officially declared yet is that the NRL asmin doesn't actually know how to do it

We won’t have the money afl does as long as we don’t demand the same as they do and keep acting like a second class citizen

Depends on the context

A new stadium and government funding for sure would be the way to go if we can manage to get that but shouldn't be the deciding factor, no other expansion club has needed to meet those terms

And even if that was the case the NRL should be officially putting this the the WA government publically like the afl did in tassie

Atleast 2 teams in every major metro, regardless of performance, has brought them in the big bucks from TV

They'll now be able to say "every state"

Their game f**king sucks as a sport but to knock back their administrative skills is to kid yourself

Really? Always going to be... in redcliffe?? people wanted a carbon copy broncos 2.0, basically another crushers failure.. its not safe expansion, its basically playing catch up... brisbane should have had 4 teams when the NRL began, not just one this whole time... true expansion will come, im guessing its Pacific, Perth and Adelaide... but its not going to be easy

I really hope the arlc use this stadium as a reson to get money for Penrith Canberra and fund a png team

That’s what a good leader would do I hope vlandys is up to it

No it hasn’t

they get 10 percent more than us with 40 percent more content

They are carrying two clubs (soon three) that will never be financially viable

they are literally an example of what not to do

So the NRL shouldn't invest in stadiums and grassroots? Leave that solely to hopes and prayers and gambling money
What was interesting in their tactics was they demanded a new stadium and Govt funding support for a new club. Then when it started to look 50-50 they came out with a big announcement on what they would fund and that seemed to get it over the line. Again smart business.

I suppose if you have the money tho, throw it away
That’s the good thing they’ve wasted their amazing finances on vanity projects that are draining their financial strength

meanwhile every current nrl club is financially viable

So vlandys should come out now and say to Perth if you don’t match what tasmania did no team for you
