Thats pretty dumb imo. We need regular games to build regular attendance culture. Sell corprparate packages and sponsorships etc
I think to say there wouldnt be the following is a bit naïve given the number of RL fans in Perth and also how perth generally likes to get behind its clubs actively.

No club bar one or two draws big crowds consistently. Its a combination of venue, ko time, opposition and how well the team is going. Perth will be no different to the rest of the league in that regards. Hopefully if we consistently get that 4pm Sunday slot AWST that will help a great deal with crowds.
They'll be shit if they aren't competitive as the dolphins were... i really dont see it happening without the jets or bears, or some other reserve grade feeder

You know this was brought up 4-5 years ago, whatever these articles are suggesting from your point of view mean nothing now as gus is now at the bulldogs, after he was at the warriors along with covid, and prior to that the panthers, so a lot has happened for gus's pov and his selections for expansion may have changed since then, but for the most part he is pretty sound with the conferences concept, and Brisbane2, Perth, and Auckland2, all that leaving one expansion licence left for the 20 team comp...
The most important factor in the article is that he states the stakeholders aren't the NRL or the ARLC its the Clubs they represent... any expansion bid needs to prove to all of those clubs that they are worth the effort... brisbane2 is done, and being in Brisbane every week is ticked off, a second club/derby in NZ is a must, whether is another Auckland or elsewhere in NZ, it needs to be looked at, and Perth and PNG are my picks for the overall 20, but we cant have perth without player pool increasing, or a damn good source of talent/feeder club... so hurry the fụck up and saddle with the bears get it over with perf!
Dont stress there's a dozen east coast second tier clubs who could be our feeder partner, without the Bears baggage.

Agreed but as i just posted theres plenty of feeder club options for us, coupled with growth in WA systems and raiding of SL we'll be right.

Dolphins finished 13th as I predicted. I got that bit right lol

Injuries to key players got that result, its not like they were shithouse all year and built up to get to that spot.. they landed there because of their depth, and they are in heartland RL QLD, and it will be worse for Perth

Dolphins started off competitive then faded badly

the fact their crowds were so big regardless could be used to argue for another brisbane team

Wasnt hard to see, older players lack of depth due to time to recruit. Hence why I predicted 13th, injuries were inevitable. Seem to remember you optimistically had them in top 8?

That depends. If set up in same way then yes quite possibly. Hopefully the NRL will be smarter next time and not do it the same way though.

When I was over in Perth recently many locals had very differing opinions on how many games a NRL Perth side should actually play in WA, one popular opinion was if Perth had 12 home games, 6 should be played in Perth and 6 between North Sydney Oval/ Central Coast Stadium, I was actually gobsmacked by this reply.
The main reason being was that they believed a Perth team wouldn’t/couldn’t consistently draw big crowds.

Perhaps Perth locals trying to humour you I think …

The main positive of having a team in Perth will be around playing games in less favourable East Coast time slots which might have a TV audience but aren’t great for attending the game …

6pm Sunday’s is the obvious ( 4pm Perth time) … but you could even see how 9.30pm Friday and Sat (7.30 Perth time ) might look …

I was looking at their draw, most of the teams they played twice were beatable, but form from last season leading into this season doesn't always carry over... the likes of Penrith, Melbourne, Parra and Souths were always bound to towel them up, but the other teams were anyones guess, they had a fair amount of bottom 8 teams, and had key injuries to SoS, JMK, hammer and katoa at different stages of the year meant a unstable spine troubled their season, all in all successful in all other metrics, especially issako with top point and try scorer of the season

Not yet, and not over the broncos dead body, they allowed one in from the outsirts of the city, fat chance they opt to invite another even closer, i deadset think sunshine coast falcons have a better shot than the Firehawks(east tigers) or Bombers/(Ipswichjets) even then Melbourne would shit the bed over it

If we’re being honest another Brisbane club offers more than anyone else (they won’t be next just saying how much brisbane offers the nrl)

Not the point.... and using that logic, another NSW team or more likely another Sydney team would too
But if you want more bang for your buck go the NZ2 route, warriors are going gangbusters, and RU is flacid at the moment

Still wouldn’t match an east coast tigers bid
