Historically, the Victory have drawn larger crowds than the Melbourne Storm. Melbourne City are also drawing significant crowds to MRS. Combined, the two clubs are well ahead of the Storm.

Just another reason Dolphins over easts was such a dumb choice for everyone expect news ltd
Dolphins were second only to the Broncos for attendances and sponsorship revenue. Fifth overall for TV ratings. Attendances would have been higher if they played all games at Lang Park.

You consider their inclusion "dumb"?

How would a Perth team compare?

You seem more interested in whats good for Ch9, who pay a pittance for NRL, than in growing the game. Very weird!

You're only interested in having a team in your backyard. If you never lived in Perth then you wouldn't care less about it getting a team.

so? it doesn't change the fact AAMI has statues of Smith and Slater and the Storm get higher than average attendances for NRL. So much grasping at straws...

The Storm's best season drew 20,924. That included one "home" game at Lang Park. Take away that game and the Storm's average drops down to 18,263.

Victory are more popular than Storm in Melbourne. Soccer is bigger than rugby league in Melbourne. 25 years of sustained success hasn't changed the status quo.

After one season, the Dolphins have a larger supporter base than the Storm developed over 25 year.

What do you think that tells you?

Dumb because they are encroaching on storms development area and dumb because they aren’t playing ft at Suncorp and dumb because they aren’t appealing at all to the south and sw brisbane market.

Why aren’t you a dolphins fan?

yeh go figure a rugby league fan in perth would like to see an nrl club in perth, you’re a fcking genius for working that out!

You think the Sunshine Coast belongs exclusively to the Melbourne Storm?

Are you for real or trolling?

Why shouldn't a club from Moreton Bay extend its footprint into the Sunshine Coast?

The two regions are adjacent to one another.

The arrogance and entitlement you're displaying is the reason I stopped being sympathetic to your position. Your sole intention is to weaken the Queensland and NSW clubs so Melbourne (and a potential Perth team) can gain an advantage.

I really hope Perth never gets a team during your lifetime.

And there it is. No real reason to oppose a Perth team. Just want to win an internet argument. Such a small person
There's no reason to support a Perth-based team. I honestly believe the game will benefit more from expanding in Brisbane, New Zealand, PNG and Fiji. The South Pacific has the potential to become a rugby league heartland.

Samoa vs Tonga could become as big across the Polynesian diaspora as Origin is in Australia. PNG vs Fiji has potential to be big. Kangaroos vs Kiwis has the potential to be big. Perth cannot compete with that.
