Given how hard it is to win away games in modern cricket:
Games won by England in the 13/14 Ashes series in Aus: 0/5
Games won by Australia in the '15 Ashes series in Eng: 2/5

That's victory Aus in my opinion.

a moral victory, nice

I've played the game- not at Test level though.

Look, I think Voges premeditated the leave, was embarrassingly bowled and reprieved by a bad umpiring call. But I can see a rationale for a player in the last over of the first day opting to not play a shot or even move his feet on account of a no ball call.

All academic though. We'll never know

It's like getting a free hit. You can't get out. You take advantage of it if you can. No batsmen shoulders arms to a free hit, if they know it's a free hit. A batsmens job is to score runs, if he genuinely had time to change his shot, he's not changing it to a leave.

No stupid shots please. This is the weakest Australian bottom 6 in a long time.

Dud performance all around.

Hopefully we finally drop Southee to #11. What a dropkick.

with all due respect good Doctor, its not really up to Southee to save your arse, the batsmen should have done their job a tad better

they weren't exactly facing Holding and Marshall

Voges has struggled and had some luck but he is doing a good job hanging around with Oozie.

99* come on son.

Yep, the batsmen were appalling - but it's not unreasonable to expect Southee to actually make an effort with the bat
