anyone care?

Weather doesn't usually have as big an effect on AFL as NRL, so I think his point is if the AFL crowd was down by 10-15k due to weather, it's probably a fair indication of why our crowd was down a few thousand on what might have been anticipated.

The weather took its toll on the AFL aswell. 70k+ expected, crowd of 58,000 in the end

Even mighty Collingwood suffered. Their attendance was only about eight times as big as Manlys!!!

7,000 at Brookvale after 7,000 for the Dragons on Monday is simply depressing. No point trying to dress it up. We simply can't get people to come to the games and A league is breathing down our necks.

Hope Union does something to keep the Rugby flag flying in Sydney.

Iam sure most Sydneysiders read/watch the press and if it's good news they lap it up but if it's bad they don't want to know.

Sydney don't believe in thick and thin.

Knights, Titans, Broncos and Cowboys are getting good crowds.

S14 does little to fly the flag in sydney as it is.The majority of Sydneysiders don't give a stuff.

Seriously...any parents who took their children to either footy game in Melbourne last night should have thier custody rights taken away. The forecast was strong chilly winds, rain, hail and possible thunderstorms...luckily the last 3 stayed away.

And they are worried about a Perth team being able to draw a crowd! Geez it is hard to put up good arguments for the status quo when you see such apathy of fans to the game in Sydney. I know there is plenty of bad press about the game at the moment but for the comps leading club that is shocking.

We've only played the game in Winter for 100 years, you'd think the clubs would have realised by now that weather may not be great and put some roofs up!

A fairer comparison can be made after the stadium is built for the Storm.

AFL will always get massive crowds for its games in Melbourne. They do love their game. Good on them. The expectation that everyone else should or must love it too is a bit hard to take though...

More Sunday afternoon games at Broovale would help considerably. The NRL have to make going to the games an enjoyable experience for famlies. Sitting on a wet grass hill, on a freezing cold night is not an enjoyable experience. The way I see it, the NRL cater for the tv telecasters and not the fans so this is what they get. In the middle of winter it surely must be wiser to stage more games during the day. Manly are trying hard to finance a comfortable stadium for it's fans but at the moment we don't have one and on a freeing cold night the crowds show that. We have had only two Sunday games at Brookie this year and the fans are desperate for more.

ER, unfortunately the NRL want bigger tv ratings instead of bigger crowds.

Is Toyota Stadium packed like everyone said it would be?
