I think the final does go-to the highest ranked participating team's city.

That's correct. Always has been.
The only one that wasn't was when the Mariners and Newcastle made the Grand Final.
FFA deemed Central Coast Stadium too small to host a GF. They moved it to the SFS. It still sold out.

Idk how the A league works for grand finals but isn’t it the highest ranked Prelim final winning team gets rights to host the GF? That seems to be the pattern for recent years atleast.

Stupid idea

Not really considering the drawing power the A league has these days. If there’s no local interest they’re never going to get a decent crowd in a neutral stadium.
NRL and AFL know loads of neautrals are going to get on the piss even if its an all out of state final. Not only that but they have much bigger supporter bases to get a traveling crowd.

So what's the excuse today? Good timeslot, good weather. Tigers in form, Parra backing up from their first win. Reciprocal rights for members as well i believe.

The NRL needs to have a good hard look at itself and in particular the state of the game in Sydney.

pathetic
its a shame the crowd is a usual ANZ stinker
this is an awesome contest deserving of 50K , when will sydneysiders treat their clubs & this game the way it should be

Agree. I believe poor marketing promotion has alot to do with figure. The value for money aspect has not been publicised effectively for this game. It's a good game of footy deserving of the 50000 you have mentioned. Marketing promotion has failed!

Yep. For sure! I'm thinking it's the promotion aspect . Absolutely certain! I've heard nothing about the value laden deals for attending this Match at any time this week.

this promotion line I see all the time
its BS

who wouldn't know the game was on ?
40,000 members between the 2 clubs for starters would

the damage I think is the NRL's willingness to destroy its own attendance culture with stupid timeslots on stupid days effectively telling people not to attend

morons

People keep blame marketing but why? When will fans themselves take accountability?

Every fan should know what team their team is playing if they're actually a fan. It's just a poor culture towards attendance in Sydney. A lot of apathy as well towards the game itself, not just towards attendance.

Lol, who was expecting 50000?

Let's repeat it for the 60000 trillionth time: fans hate ANZ stadium. That's why they won't go to games there.

I'm thinking its lazy arsed sydneysiders

That's part of it. I'd say things like paying $25 for parking would not help. And not enough people knowing about the decent price tickets and cheap food. After all their was no other game on in Sydney today and weather suited going to the footy. It's poor promotion from the marketing people. Not once did I hear an advert or discussion about the cheaper tickets to this stadium all week. That's got to be a marketing issue.

no one was
but in a world where fans follow their team because they mean something to them
where they play.............. isn't important
