And 12 times the distance, traffic and transport infrastructure problems than most cities in this country have.
Keep guessing mate.

effort
look it up in the dictionary

no one said it has to happen every week
but once & a while , extract the finger & have a go

Penrith gets the biggest crowd of the week... Go suburban grounds

Do Penrith have plans for a stadium rebuild in the near future?? That’s like the 3rd sold out crowd this year. Their members are almost exceeding ground capacity also

A 25-30k seater in the golden west might be needed within the next few years

It was 2 Sydney sides yesterday with maybe 1 million people living in their catchments theres a lot to draw on , even if you just looked at the membership numbers of both teams combined yesterday
38,000 approx. , reciprocal rights yesterday
then those who aren't members , & stadium members & the fact tickets were as cheap as chips anyway & the weather was pretty good , plus all the under sub plots for yesterdays encounter

they expected 25K & that should have been easy to achieve under the circumstances
something is horribly wrong with our games attendance culture in its biggest market & it needs to be addressed.

What would you do to address it?

ANZ is not exactly central to either team
So 18k was a good crowd especially considering one of those teams is going like complete shite.... and the other is not much better.

aside from work. I maybe leave the local area maybe 10-20 times a year. I go to a GF and SOO maybe once every 5 years or so. We are an event city. Run of the mill NRL games won't entice people out reguarly

There was plans for an outer west Stadium back when the airport was announced but nothing since. TBH without another team to be tennant I can't see it happening. We did fund the academy so maybe down the track will fund it ourselves.

Problem is it was the biggest crowd in 8 years. Need that to happen more regularly 1st but the populations keeps growing will help

We had some success in 97-01 (and blips in 06 and 13) but we never took it for granted, because we sucked hard pre-97 (and in between the blips).

I would think the Cowboys supporters would be the same - yes you have been contenders, but you never forget the pain of prolonged suckiness (although I think we now take the NRL-era crown for consistently sucking) - so you appreciate and savour the success.

I hope Melbourne, Brisbane and Easts one day get to experience how multiple spoons in a row feel.

That's why we allowed the Reds and Lions into Brisbane - lol

No, it wasn’t.

Newie are the worst team in the comp at present, Cronullas travelling fans could have their parties in a phone booth, and we got 21k.

Newcastle did very well
I was surprised they stayed until the end.

I could live in Newcastle top spot.
Easy to get around
Great beaches

Newcastle fans deserve a better team

Imagine if they were actually half decent too

Making observations on a discussion based forum
Now that's odd isn't it.
Yes, you seem to be keen to invoke real-world issues when describing why people struggled to get to a Raiders game but don't apply the same fairness or logic to other clubs. Just tarring with a brush and insulting people who'll never read what you're saying because it makes you feel better?

Haha what

If ANZ isn't central to the Tigers and Dogs then Olympic Park should be replaced with unit blocks as it's completely pointless.
But plenty of people on here and in the media are convinced that it's the future because it's the geographical centre of Sydney bla bla.

Anyway. I went to Gosford on Saturday and ANZ on Sunday.

Gosford crowd disappointing after last year, back to the norm. 2 Sydney teams obviously helps but I don't see how "we don't want to watch the Titans" is really much of an excuse for an area supposedly crying out for a team. Perfect weather too.
Hope the council is paying us a tidy sum coz we sure aren't getting a better crowd by taking it up the F3.

ANZ. 18k between 2 supposedly popular Western Sydney teams. Meh.
@Raiderdave is right, Sydney (and most of the non-Sydney clubs to be fair) is full of self-proclaimed superfans who don't actually go to games unless the planets are aligned. The reasons for this are obviously complicated, but the clubs and NRL have done what they can with free transport and $20 tickets. You can take 4 children FOR FREE with 1 $20 adult ticket.

The fan experience is dead flat at ANZ. I'd love to see them close the north, south and upper bowls for crowds under 20k and push everyone between the try lines. It would do wonders for the crowd experience and look a shitload better.

As for Tigers. Hopefully they make Parra their main home ground as soon as possible.

Calling rubbish on this, Roosters-Titans Sat 3pm at Allianz would've drawn sub-10k, easily.
