Who’s going to be the new captain if they strip Pearce?

Klem? Kalyn? Brailey? someone else??

Has to be Green next year. Brailey apparently considered a future captain, but I wouldn’t just yet.

Barnett is not that person.

Brailey for mine. Green also a good choice but he's only here for another year, whereas Brailey can be a 10 year player

Pearce will always just be “one of the boys”. You could see earlier this year that he hasn’t changed or matured when he was on a fox sports segment with Best and some other young player and he was making immature jokes and slapping the other guys on the leg laughing at everything- fair enough, that’s who he is and it’s probably good for team bonding and morale to be like that, but it isn’t the best feature you want in a leader or captain.

Ive seen Pearcey more than once in bars and clubs and he always acted like a wanker, nothing massively egregious but he is that guy hanging with a big group of big guys talking shit to anyone who walks past him. He just not the guy you want leading the team and influencing young players.

He hasn’t been given a rails-ride in his career so far. He hasn’t held a spot that he doesn’t deserve.

There have been no signs of nepotism. Until there is, keep that shit out of it because he’s got everything he has on merit.
