I'm not sold on ramien either and to make it worse we got rid of j Morris who was on less than half of his contract who still is playing well. We could have had both Morris boys for the price of ramien but cronulla

What f**ken dimension did/could this shit unfold?

Josh asked to leave in February. We resisted until mid March. That's hardly getting rid of him.

How the f**k were we poaching Brett off the Roosters?

If coach never got ramien and moved Morris to the wing he wouldn't of wanted to leave. As for the other Morris that was when we first got Josh.
I'm just saying we could have had them combined for under 500k instead we got ramien who has played 10 good games in his career a few years back for us.

Yeah, I think the wing was BS. Roosters wanted him as they had a need, and what Unlce Nick wants Uncle Nick gets. The move from centre and desire to play with brother were all BS to push an agenda

I'm sure it's been posted somewhere but this is the off contract list:

1. Josh Dugan
2. Mawene Hiroti
3. Shaun Johnson
4. William Kennedy
5. Nene Macdonald
6. Billy Magoulias
7. Matt Moylan
8. Kyle Patterson
9. Toby Rudolf
10. Siosifa Talakai
11. Aiden Tolman
12. Connor Tracey
13. Brayden Trindall
14. Aaron Woods

Breaking them down into the following 3 categories you have people who will be upgraded, value retained or replaced by someone on similar coin and downgraded.

Downgraded or lost
1. Dugan
2. Moylan or Johnson
3. Woods

Same value or likely to be replaced by someone on the same coin
1. Johnson or Moylan
2. Hiroti
3. Macdonald
4. Magoulias
5. Patterson
6. Tolman
7. Trindall

In line for an upgrade
1. Kennedy
2. Rudolf
3. Talakai
4. Tracey

I'm not sure we're going to save enough with those downgraded or lost to be able to keep all those we'd like to. However if we were able to offload Fifita this year that would go someway to alleviating some issues.

Who do people see as the top 3 most important retentions at this point in time?

For me it would be
1. Johnson
2. Kennedy
3. Rudolf

Thoughts?

I’d say Kennedy.... Toby...Talakai and Tracey should be our priorities in that order. SJ....Moyza....Duges and Woodsy need to take significant pay cuts if they want to stay. Otherwise they’re welcome to test the waters.

Agree that Johnson, Kennedy and Rudolf are the major three re-signings we should be prioritising. Talakai and Tracey should be after them. Not sure about Woods and Dugan, if they’re both willing to take big pay cuts then definitely keep them but otherwise we can’t afford to have them stinking up cash especially at their age. McInnes won’t be coming cheap either so we’ve gotta think about that.

Believe we only paid 450k a season for McInnes which shouldn’t break the bank.

Saints are rumoured to be after both Fifita and McGuire for this year, I presume they can’t afford both - could we see Fifita go to Saints and us pick up McGuire?

I wouldn’t be massively keen on that - I like McGuires spirit and Gal type abrasiveness, but I just don’t see him being massively effective in the current format of the game. Similar to Jake T, Tapau etc, I think he’s the wrong shape for this quick, agile version of the game.

Nah.... pass on McGuire. Looks ordinary in an awful team.
