Gold Coast Watch Update:

''We’ll be the biggest sport in that market in 5-10 years across most metrics. It is changing. Queensland is pumping and becoming an AFL state and the Gold Coast has done their bit'' - Gillon McLachlan (AFL CEO)

Average Attendance By Club:

Titans: 16,585
Suns: 13,965

Top 10 Crowds on the Gold Coast in 2023 (NRL & AFL):

1. NRL: 26,563 - Titans v Broncos

2. AFL: 22,483 - Suns v Collingwood
3. NRL: 18,736 - Titans v Souths
4. NRL: 18,335 - Titans v Dolphins
5. NRL: 16,516 - Titans v Cowboys
6. NRL: 15,362 - Titans v Roosters
7. NRL: 14,483 - Titans v Storm

8. AFL: 14,242 - Suns v Hawthorn
9. AFL: 14,097 - Suns v Lions
10. AFL: 13,648 - Suns v Sydney Swans

It would be good if the Titans could knock those bottom 3 games out with the last 3 remaining games at Cbus. Warriors Fri 6pm, Panthers Sat 5:30pm, Bulldogs Sun 2pm. Decent chance those 3 can all top 14242.

Likewise Broncos will knock #10 AFL out in round 27 Vs Storm if Dolphins V Cowboys &/or Warriors don’t do it before then.

Sydney only really has Rabbitohs V Roosters @ Accor remaining that could make their top 10.

Optus Stadium is looking set for a decent crowd this weekend, Levels 1 & 3 are pretty much sold out and there are decent sales on Level 5.

First 10 rows of 538 - 548 are full (not sure why they haven't opened up more rows here), whilst they have just opened up 529 - 537 and 549, 550 & 501.

Definitely on track to challenge the 38,824 the last double header at Perth got.

Even though it's a month away, Brisbane v Melbourne (Thursday night) is looking really good. Unless corporates and members stay away en masse should crack 40k.

Such a shame the WWC was on this year, I really think the Bronco's would have smashed their crowd average record (at Suncorp) easily.

That will be a blockbuster

shame that stupid wc isn’t over by then and it’s got to be played at an oval

that could be a battle for second spot

There’s always next year as you’d have to imagine that this current broncos team is only going to get better.

Yeah Warriors v Titans should be a huge crowd given the number of Kiwis on the Coast and the bandwagon effect.

Sydney also has some big finals and the GF up the sleeve too.

Gold Coast in its current form and precious incarcerations from my memory has always been associated with failure.

also it Seems to be a city full of fans of other NRL teams?
Yes, and once you dig below NRL level you can see that RL is the main sport in town. Lots of Kiwis too which is great for a bandwagon effect when the Warriors are on a roll (which we will see soon at Robina).
