What did Dhoni try?

Curse the time difference, I'm overseas and the game is on at stupid hours in the morning!
Awesome stuff McCullum, top 3 all time NZ innings for sure if we manage to pull off the win tomorrow.

Took the pads off and had a bowl himself. Matt Prior destroyed him that day, wasn't much better today.

The pitch seems to be too good for batting to bowl them out in a day, so I wouldn't give them a sniff.

Tier one hahaha. Bangas are better. Go Baz, get a triple ton. Make beaker Sharma explode.

Great day for NZ, in particular Brendon McCullum and BJ Watling. Also the knock at the end of the day by Jimmy Neesham who will hopefully go on and make a 100 tomorrow, it would be well deserved.

Bugger the declaration, NZ already lead the series 1-0 so just keep batting until at least lunch or at least set India an impossible target.

Agree. Screw declaring. To steal a AJ Griegism make em grovel. Much hatred on the BCCI.

Better of a guaranteed 1-0 win than risking 1-1. The pitch is too good to declare.

What about Andrew Jones in best batsmen discussion?

Great bat. That partnership with Martin Crowe was incredible. Jones destroyed the Lankans that series. This innings by Baz also rivals Paddy Greatbatch at the WACA in 1989/90 to save a test against Australia. Loving this team though, full credit to Mike Hesson. Everyone gave it to him for knifing Taylor but he never backed down from his conviction that this was a key to unlocking New Zealand's talent. He was right. I amongst others was horribly horribly wrong.

Agree also, even if its 400 in 60 overs India will go for it and if a few of them click, they could actually pull it off.

India can be very negative when it suits them, I remember they gave up an easy chase against the West Indies because they had the series sewn up. They don't deserve a sporting chance.

They deserve nothing. Remember this is the mob who refused DRS because their bats wear enormous home made pads and are never given leg before in India and they make a bundle of cash off these super bats, and who wanted to destroy world cricket tradition to get bigger pay cheques. Make em field for another day if they can. Make sure we take the series 1 blot and watch the subby fans riot on cricinfo. Remember this mob would have lost the ODI in Auckland if not for their moronic anti DRS views. Make em grovel, give them nothing.

Keep batting, and make the subby crowds realise how damn boring it is watching another team bat for three days for the sake of it...irony though, is that this pitch has ended as flat as an Indian pitch.

Neesham wins the race, fantastic knock by the debutant.

McCullum 2 away.

From Reddit:
McCullum's faced more balls this innings than Chris Martin did in his entire career. In that time, Martin was dismissed 57 times.
