Bat first and actually bat well...

Worrying things is aside from generally bowling tidy lines, and Tom Latham, we showed absolutely nothing in the first test. I expect Williamson to step up for sure

More of the same from Pakistan I think.

Hafeez has been reported for a suspect action. I wonder if an Indian will ever be reported for a suspect action.

Ahmed Shehzad the Pakistani opener isn't in this test for some reason. Don't know why?

Azhar Ali I read will open with Taufeeq Umar.

You would hope so.
Saw something the other day (may well have been rubbish) that there's a bit of division in the NZ camp after the Lou Vincent episode, which is worrying. Hopefully the kiwi's do well.

Listening to a discussion on the sudden crackdown on illegal bowling actions, it sounded like especially since the IPL came to such prominance India have seriously cracked down on dodgy actions in domestic cricket - as Australia and England have tended to, so they don't get called because they don't make it to international cricket. Since the triumverate (which, i have to say, I'm very concerned about in regard to international crickets future) came to power this crackdown has come into play - which certainly helps when the big three have been stopping the actions early.

Ahmed Shehzad fractured his cheekbone or skull in his dismissal in the first innings last match, out for series. Mohammed Hafeez likely out with a hamstring injury.

As ever Guerilla Cricket will be providing my commentary for this one

NZ 2/209

so batting first seems to be a massive bonus here.
Lets see how Pakis go batting 2nd (provided kiwis can post 450 plus at least)

I thought Williamson was a gun player of spin?

Another ton for Latham - he's certainly answered some questions as an opener. He's been very consistent since debut, makes holding on to Fulton and Rutherford look very foolhardy

Not sure Williamson is right - but yes, he is certainly one of the best non sub-continental players of spin.

Disappointing that our three best(?) and most experienced bats all got out softly - but otherwise, we're in a position to put a decent first innings on the board, but still worried about us falling away tbh

Draw coming up.

Should/Could be, but 3/243 at stumps , NZ need to add at least another 200 today, preferably 250 plus. Then lets see how Pakis handle batting 2nd after 2 days in the field.

If NZ get around 450-500 I reckon they can win the test

All the experience is out, so we're still in a fragile position imo

I guess it's a lack of batting depth/concern over all rounders, but I would've thought only one of neesham and anderson would've been necessary, then McCullem back down at five, and someone opening (I guess Rutherford, who simply may not be any better option).

Except Rutherford is shit...

Anderson and Neesham are both very talented - not experienced though, but it's set up well for them - we'll see, I guess!

Kiwis all out 403.

Pakis probably going have to try to rack up a big score batting once and skittle NZ second time around if they want to win this.
