Still plenty in the wicket for the bowlers if they are good enough... Definitely need to keep it short of a length more often then not.

stumps being taken after only 4 balls this evening is freaking great for South Africa. The match is well positioned which I think puts South Africa on top - us having the all round better side

take your blinkers off

30 runs behind having to bat last on a pitch that will have alot of cracks on day 4 and 5 according to their pitch reports

having said that, there is not that much in it

Worst post ever...who would you have as captain then?
Tall poppy syndrome much :roll::roll:

Katich should have been captain the last 5 years.

When has Clarke performed when a match is in the balance? Never. His runs come when we are either WAAAY out in front or getting absolutely pummeled.

you only have to go back one test match where he set us up in the first innings

Justin Langer has done a cracking job as batting coach hasn't he?

I really don't think Langer can be blamed when people like punter, Clarke, Hussey and haddin are failing. All well established in their careers before he took over.

Langer has been an absolute failure as a batting coach,Since he came on board how many of these type of collapses keep on happening???? There is more to the job than telling Rick he is hitting them well in the nets and getting Huss and Ponting coffees

we have bowlers that, on paper, are over performing imo

how we bowled RSA for 260 in the first innings was over performing imo

on paper, our batsmen should have made 400 after the start we got as batting should be our strength and its really not atm

I really dont see how we are any better off for having Langer as our batting coach

bring back Simmo I say, he did it all on his own

of course I'm joking but it just shows having all these hangers on is not helping

Aus love a good collapse these days, hopefully Southee can be our Steyn........

Ponting should retire before his average dips under 50. And I' very happy to see Haddin playing rubbish, has been up there in my most disliked players in world cricket.

We always have had a collapse in us. Thankfully NZ will play us back in to form

Stop saying us ffs

Can't wait for the series against you, if we lose reasonably well then it's just business as usual but if we give you a scare, or even somehow draw the series or even win a game then the reaction in Australia will be hilarious.

I'm not going to go through every match he's played but how about...

Last week?

His first test?

You've got no idea.

Ummm, South Africa are 30 runs behind and Australia have to bat last on this pitch.

You f**kwits will play Ponting back into form and ensure he plays till the Ashes. He's going to get a 100 after being dropped 3 times and twice knicking to the keeper when you don't refer it. He'll get another two years on that one score.

Great effort from the Saffa bowlers, I saw they wrote on cricinfo 'the battle of the chokers' but the bowling from South Africa in that second session was just too good and they really worked well as a unit.

Guess it's back to square one. Hopefully Mitch has one last hurrah - we're going to need it.

you can't win with Mitch, either he'll bowl poo, or he'll keep getting selected despite being poo. I wonder which is the worse scenario.

I wouldn't be so hasty to judge.

If Mitch has a ripper tonight but then a poor series against NZ, which let's face it, won't cost us too bad, we'll be able to have our cake and eat it as well.
