Good opportunity for Head and Carey to improve their averages here. Both in very good form.

Our top order has had a horror day. They won't take much confidence into Melbourne. Meanwhile the Indian pace attack will be pumped.

All those batsmen who are out, are all the ones under the microscope too!
Smith may have bought himself some leeway with his first innings, but McSweeney hasn't made much with his chances. Khawaja is on the slippery slope, his average seems to be on the decline. Marnus is, well Marnus. Mitch Marsh, outside of his catches, hasn't really been effective at all.

Sadly, there's not much you can replace them with.
Webster for Marsh seems to be the most obvious one.
I think Renshaw, Kontas or Bancroft need to open with Khawaja. Can't drop Uzzie just yet imo.
Then there's Marnus... maybe it's worth putting Smith to first drop, and try McSweeney at 4? Remember, McSweeney isn't an opener by trade

Honestly the structure of the Fox commentary team is unbearable (often with overseas commentators outnumbering local ones, and local ones who want that sweet sweet BCCI contract...)

Way too pro-India. Australia is ahead by 229.

We are clearly trying to force a result, even if I think the tactics are stupid.

India chasing 250 on this pitch would be a herculean effort, even against 2 bowlers.
