Have you stood in the middle of an international cricket ground for 2 hours straight concentrating every ball? Umpiring is more than standing around counting to six.

Maybe your employer should issue you a camelback, instead of allowing you a break for a drink. I'm sure you'd be happy about that.

I've done a tour of the G didn't need a drink the whole time mate.

If I'm standing still and motioning with my index finger I'd happily take a camel pack. Bit like posting on a forum actually.

Okay, but batsmen need to face up within 1 minute of getting hit in the helmet or they are timed out.

Concussions protocols won't allow that I'm afraid.

Sure it is. The issue is with the unnecessary stoppages not the drinks break.

Stumps. Australia 6/311.

Even I'd say. Australia should be on top but a few gave it away and then there's f**king Marsh.

Big first session tomorrow.

If we could , bat half the day tomorrow at least, add another 100 or so

Gonna be hot one, don't want to be in the field for majority of the day

Plus less workload for the bowlers, be fresher and go again Morning day 3

I'd even offer more drinks breaks if they really crank up the amount of required overs and have real punishments for not meeting it.
The windies use to try to get to the 90 overs by robbing the fans of a couple of Ambrose or Marshall overs and replacing them with 6 or 7 Roger Harper or Viv Richards overs.

I'd rather take the 85 overs thanks.

Smith should come out in the morning and reverse paddle sweep over the bowler's head like his career doesn't matter on it and then get his manager to run out on the wicket naked with his phone number painted on his back chanting IPL, IPL, IPL while doing some Raygun dance moves.

KohlI isn’t even going to get suspended. The bending over for the Indians is seriously pathetic. CA are to scared to challenge it as we know what the Indians would do if one of their players got suspended
If he doesnt get suspended Starke should spear tackle Jaiswal after his first over.

That innings from Konstas was f**king awesome. The nuts on the bloke to be playing those shots on debut against the best bowler in the world. He won't bat like that every game, but the hype looks real.

Anyone who thought he'd be "ruined" being picked too young looking very silly.

Only took a bluebagger to somewhat fix our top order. Middle order is piss on the occasion that Travis doesn’t score, because Marsh f**king stinks. He doesn’t bowl, so try anywhere there, put McSweeney there if they truly believe he’s next up.

Shame Carey got out, he’s been growing more and more into becoming a test batsmen.

I'd like Kholi drop the shoulder into one of our bowlers, but I doubt he would have the nads to do that, he only likes to pick on teenagers.

Perfectly even day 1.

India ahead if they knock us off for below 340. 340-375 is par. We are ahead at 375+.

This is good test cricket.

Konstas is the real deal. He has the talent and the swagger to belong at this level. I haven't been this excited about a young player since Phil Hughes. What he was doing to Bumrah and co reminded me a lot of what a young Hughes did to Steyn and co in 2009.

Now we just need the selectors to not stuff him around like they did to Hughes. His peak is 5-10 years away and he is capable of anything. I want him in the team for the long term and I do not them dropping him if he has 2 consecutive bad games. As young as he is his form might ebb and flow in the months and years to come. I don't want them picking some mediocre 30 year old the first moment his form dips the way the selectors were picking nuffies like Quiney and Shaun Marsh ahead of Hughes.

Shaun Marsh was a better bat than Phil Hughes. Come at me!
1st session tomorrow is huge. If we can get 450 plus we’ll win.
