If it is all above board, the only conclusion is that EVERYONE in the english side is vigilant in keeping one side of the ball shiny. Adding to that most of their bowlers have bowled a good line and length all series.

I heard cries of "they will play for Clark!"...how did that pan out?

Sad times for Australian cricket though we have been out played by the better team in all facets of the game. Congrats to England.

swinging the ball isn't rocket science, its based on physics and some people cannot bowl the ball without swinging it as its their natural action

its all about the seam up, if its up it pretty much wont go straight

our nuffies seem to have problems getting the seam not to wobble, hence it does nothing

The Pommies bowling this innings just highlights the difference between the two sides. Poms bowling a nice line and length. Bowling to plans and putting pressure on the batsman. Then they have the skill to get it to go reverse.

Our bowlers can't bowl a decent and line and length for more than two overs. We have no plans and haven't looked like getting it reverse this match. Cooley what a genius, lets get him to coach all our best and brightest seeing he's doing such a good job with out quicks :?

Our feilding and catching has been shoddy all series and our running between the wickets has been laughable. But don't worry folks Neilsen believes he is doing a good job and luckily he will be around for 3 more years. And lets not forget Langer, how good has our batting been since he came on board??? I mean in between telling us a score is not far away from Rick and the boys are working hard what more can he do????

x2

All the little things we used to do aren't being done. Quick singles to rotate the strike to take the bowler out of his rhythm aren't being taken and our batsman then allow the bowlers to control them. All of the coaches from Neilson down should go before any of the players.

But we can't take away from the Poms either they've played test cricket from the first test but with us you can see the pyjama cricket in their game playing at everything trying to hit boundaries and forget singles (cough Watson cough) and bowling 6 different deliveries in an over all traits of pyjama cricket.

the sub continent pitch bases are clay and they rough the ball, our pitch bases are generally a black plug sort of like swamp mud and much softer and they dont rough the ball up which is why we dont generally get reverse swing happening for about 40 odd overs assuming its a red ball

the roughness of the ball in the close up was very unusual

the shinyness is the thing that impressed me

Ive seen closeups of johnsons scrammbled seam when he bowls, both sides of the ball look the same

With technology the way it is, cameras everywhere. Im happy to surrender that the poms bowlers as a group have been so far superior than ours, not even on the same planet. Far too disciplined in all facets
