Did the Essendon blokes get issued with the show cause? Or was that all knocked on the head with the court actions.

Essendon players were issued with show cause in late June/early July and then Essendon launched the court action to have them thrown out based on the theory that the investigation overstepped the scope of the ASADA legislation by having a joint investigation with the AFL.

Decision from the judge is expected next month.

John Fahey former head of WADA certainly ripped into ASADA and the prior Govt.

Well that's the way I am reading it. ASADA want results before the court decision down south. That is why I am all for fighting the claims and for any action to come after the Essendon matter has been heard.

So let me get this right... If the boys accept the bans from ASADA which are apparently drastically reduced and are a token ban and they (the boys) feel that they did nothing wrong but have been made an offer that they can't refuse.

What I was getting at is that due to the huge number of tests Gallen would do, he'd be more conscious and less inclined to take risks regarding supplements and injections, one would imagine.

ASADA believed they had evidence they would produce it or wait till Essendon was beaten in court as then panic would set in.

But to offer light deal its like saying we got those Sharks even if lose case against essendon.

Asada simply can't have a compelling case if their reported offers are true.

Their only motivation I can see is they don't have enough evidence and are trying to dupe players into confessing. This may sound good if players are guilty or just want the sorry mess behind them, but seems to carry the real risk of some higher authority imposing greater penalty on them. So as much as I'd like this khanting thing gone....

If I'm a player and have taken the wrong stuff and there is not enough evidence to prove it, then fugg asada and every other merkin.
