Off to RU by the look of things.
Best outcome for all parties I suspect. Writing was on the wall with that random article on the WT site a few days back.
Bring on the new era.

Offloading Blair would be perfect, as well as letting Moltzen, Utai, Tuqiri, Anasta, Iosefa and Thompson all go.

Hard to find a single Tigers fan who would disagree that is the last of our deadwood and it must go. Potter is vindicating everthing the fans have been saying about player performance.

f**k you Sheens for backwarding this club with your overpriced underperforming 'stars' and assorted nufties and project players. Merkin.

I still think that Benji is worth keeping for the right price. Potter has made it abundantly clear what he wants and no matter who you are you play by his rules.
If Benji can just play to the structure that Potter wants him to, I don't see why he can't stay. I really would be curious to know how much he is asking for.

Yep lets get rid of all our experienced players and just play a team of 20s . Anasta has been good whenever he has played this year and especially with Benji leaving he is a must to keep. Moltzen is the only bloke over 20 who has played first grade fullback or halfback in the club. He will add good depth next year. Lots and Utai can prob retire. Blair should defiantly stay IMO as he has been much better in the middle. Iosefa he may not be great but isn't that why he is a reserve grade player who else with 50 games experience will play reserve grade to fill in for robbie

Respectfully, have to say I disagree with you completely.

Experience is very valuable, but not when your younger players are enormously more talented and cost a fraction of the price. Robbie Farah is paid 900k a season because his experience is only outweighed by his freakish talent and leadership. We have signed Richards, re-signed Galloway , Farah and Fulton who all have a wealth of experience and talent. When looking at the experience we are considering to offload:

Anasta - we have better back rowers and halves. Let him play out his last year to give Brooks more time but beyond that we have better options
Moltzen - we have a better fullback and halves
Benji - brilliant player but asking to much money
Blair - i'm in two minds with blair. Form has improved alot. unless club pays him full 500k then keep him for sure.
Utai - needs to retire
Ayshford - actually sad to see him leave but he wanted to leave (to join Beau Ryan no doubt) and Simona is a higher priority
Tiquiri - needs to move to a trainer role for our young backs (they could learn alot)
Pettyborne - not needed for the money we were paying him
Thomson - I actually want to keep him...still don't see why everyone wants him gone
Reddy - No reason not to keep him in reserves
Iosefa - Fulton can fill in for Robbie very well, but I'm actually against offloading him. Don't see any reason not to keep him in reserves

If a lot of these players were gone, we could retain our young guns and have enough money to sign some serious GAME CHANGING players.

My two cents

It's weird, now he has asked for a release I know I will miss him. Probably more for his past than the present and realistically it would be hard to justify his high pay combined with poor form.
Benji I wish you all the best with your career in Union. I think it's probably best all round.

Benji exiting the club was always going to happen one day,it probably has come a little earlier than expected, whilst his form has dropped,no one can deny that he was*once an exceptional attacking player that provided WT fans with a lot of fond memories.

Does anyone else think that he wants the same (or more) money than Robbie?

Can't believe he is turning down $1.5 mil over the next two years.

The Waratahs won't pay him that much.

f**k off you pissant. I think timid running around England was indication enough what was going down.
Let's celebrate. Massive spending power. I'm excited.

I suggested this may have been the case a few weeks ago.

I was planning on going to the game this week but now it will be hyped as Benjis last game at Leichhardt im having second thoughts. To me he is walking out on the club and doesn't deserve that hero status. If he was to honour his current contract then go it would be a different story. Just shows was a spoilt little selfish sook he really is.

Correct the Waratahs wont be paying him that much but they will allow him to do something the Tigers or the NRL never did. They will allow him to play Japanese Rugby during their off season. Also no doubt Benji will be banking on making the All Blacks. So depending the money he is offered by both codes and whatever bonuses he may get, Benji could earn close to $1.5-2 million next year
