I cant see any clubs taking a punt on him.
Cant really see Super 14 touching him either.
Maybe Japan or France.
Fingers crossed.

Based on what he has brought to the table over the past 18 months, his asking price is ridiculously inflated and I can't see anyone going after him, unless they are desperate.

Interesting that he had no offers from other NRL clubs at his previous contract renewal.

Not so now.

I'm certain the Tigers have him by the balls.

Either he takes the clubs offer, or he takes a massive pay cut, pulls up stumps and moves back to NZ to play Super 15's. There is no way he'll play for the all blacks.

If all his options are falling over other than WT offer and Benji decides to stay you can expect the usual talk from him of being loyal, one club player, couldn't play against WT blah,blah,blah.....

I just hope the tigers are being smart for once and not offering him a contract beyond 2015.Benji is not going to be a better footballer in 2016,his form will only go one way. It's time to start looking at players who are on the up,not those who are free falling fast

I am Marshall supporter but I would have hoped the Club has put in place a deadline for an answer ie yes or no by Monday and if we don't hear back we part ways. Other decisions about retention and recruitment which impact the future of the club need to be made. Time for grandstanding is over, just get on with it.

Exactly. I want Marshall to stay and I think with quality players around him (forwards and outside backs predominantly), some structure within the team and Benji cutting out the crud plays we can go really well.

The point is we can go really well without Benji as well and this crap being played out in the media needs to stop.

Sickening to watch him on the footy show.
Has anyone ever paraded their contract negotiations in such a fashion?
Sack Tauber, he is making you look the fool Benji.

How is Benji going to be able to cut out the crud plays????They have been their since day one and every year we get the spin that Benji has matured and he is working on cutting out the non percentage plays---It has never happened

If Brooks can develop into a dominant half he will take the pressure from Marshall and hopefully cut out the big plays he feels he needs to make. Pressure can be built from being solid and with genuine pace in the backs half chances can be capitalized on.

I get what you are stating. It might sound funny but I think he is getting better. Its just not good enough is it. How will he do it - to me that is up to him.

His only chance of reviving is career his is have a halfback steer us around.
Prince did in 05 and Lui in 10 and 11.

Went into a shell after both of these players left us.

I think Benji can offer us something over the next two years, especially if our forwards can lay a decent platform, but beyond that I just dont see him being of any value. So he needs to walk now, while he still has some value as in two years time he will be worth very little on the open market

Its time to move on however, I have a feeling he cant sign elsewhere on his current deal sowill be with WT. Ultimately he deserves to go out in better fashion just needs to aim up.

To be honest, its just a really shit situation. Benji has done so much for our club and just straight axing him is a dog thing to do. But on the other hand, $800k a season is ludicrous.

I'm glad we have new coach and CEO (fill in CEO), otherwise Benji would have gotten a 1.2 million a year deal for 10 years

People complaining he should remain loyal to the Tigers as the Tigers made him who he is today, is like saying everyone should show loyality to the first company they ever work for and stay with them!!!!

At the end of the day its a business and clubs can easily dispose of a player just like a player can leave the club.

Regardless of the profession (code) good on him for what ever he chooses.

If Benji and his Manager cant agree on terms with the Tigers then let him go.
Based on his form over the past seasons I dont believe he is worth the money he is "asking" so good on him and best of luck with whatever he chooses.
