Too bad too sad. They will follow somebody else.

That’s the same argument/reason for why we have 9 Sydney clubs - a fact that you used to rally against.
Too many clubs in sydney bad
too many clubs in Brisbane good lol

TBF to Donkey though he is coming around. Today he has agreed with me Vlandys is a sht negotiator and Dolphins should not have been Brisbane2. He's learning/

The problem for Perth red is when he gets called out on his bs he can’t admit he’s wrong so he doubles down and digs an even bigger hole

donkey is calling him out and it’s hilarious

donkey is asking very simple questions which highlight the weakness of a Perth team and it’s biggest cheerleader can’t answer these pointed questions

Funny Perth want in but resent Sydney teams whose fans follow the game & are the only reason the comp exists..

Again, I'll have to ask. If the Dolphins weren't the best choice for Brisbane 2, then who were?

Shane Richardson (Brisbane Tigers) explained on the Bye-Round Podcast this week that their bid will now be called the QLD Firehawks and play 8 games at Suncorp and four in regional QLD (Toowoomba, Mackay and Cairns were mentioned). This ridiculous idea completely rules them out for me. But do you think ideas like that are better than what the Dolphins are doing?

Who else? The Jets? They couldn't raise the bank guarantee the NRL asked for to ensure they are financially self-sustaining.

South BriShane Firehawks would have been a better choice
all games at suncorp. Broncos covering the north, firehawks covering south. No need for another license to be wasted on brisbane.

easts as owners ticked every box Redcliffe did, the only thing against them was broncos knew they’d be a bigger threat to them and so veto’d them, Imo. In fact given broncos are based in the northern area and afls focus on southern brisbane there’s a strong argument that strategically they would have been a much more logical choice.

donkey himself is the epitome of the failed decision. Despite calling for an alternative to broncos to support for years, he now doesn’t feel dolphins are relevant to him and so refuses to support them.

and before the usual circle jerkers jump in, that’s not to say dolphins are a failure, won’t be successful or are a terrible choice. Just that they clearly haven’t fulfilled the mandate of brisbane2 or we wouldn’t already be calling for brisbane3 and donkey would be in red and gold lol .

That makes no sense, particularly when they've been talking about south Brisbane area.

Why wouldnt you like the dolphins? Why arent the dolphins servicing ipswich and logan? I thought they were Brisbane2?

Which is it, are they are Brisbane2 or arent they? Ive argued they arent, you and many others argued they are, so now the rubber meets the road youre telling me youre not supporting them because they are a northern area club not a Brisbane wide club? Youre saying they dont appeal to a large section of Brisbane and you still need a third club?. Want to tell me again why they were a better choice than Firehawks lol.

I was suppoetive of the Firehawks and preferred them over the Dolphins.

You've deluded yourself into thinking there would never be calls for a third Brisbane team. The ARLC and broadcasters don't share your delusional vision on expansion.

Be honest, if firehawks had got in do you think there’d now be calls for Redcliffe So soon? It’s on,y being talked about as dolphins aren’t the genuine brisbane2 club the city needed. Dumb Vlandys.

In all for NZ2, if a bid that is viable comes along.
Brisbane3, not needed. Perth can partner with a Brisbane feeder club then lots of opportunities for player development from there. In fact if we adopted newtown jets and western Clydesdales as feeder clubs then Perth would be helping resurrect two pathway clubs from the brink. Thatd be a nice thing for WA to do to help out Sydney and Qlnd lol

Perth
PNG
NZ2
Adelaide

Any three of those 4 for a 20 team comp will do me.

I hate to break it to you, but Adelaide and Perth aren't needed. All of your arguments for bringing them in are just opinions you've plucked out of your arse. No one in the ARLC -- nor its broadcast partners --support your stance.

It's why your 15-year crusade hasn't amounted to anything.

There are calls for a third Brisbane team team because the Dolphins are the second largest rugby league club in the world. It only took them one year to develop a larger fanbase than every other club, bar the Broncos. You're kidding yourself if you think the ARLC won't want another successful team like the Dolphins after the difficult it has had with expansion. There's only been two that were self-sufficient from day one. Broncos and Dolphins. Every other club relied on handouts.

PR needs to accept that Perth isn't as important as he thinks it is. I'm sure it'll get a team one day. Just not now. There's too many underserviced heartland areas that warrant inclusion before Perth is considered. The struggles of the Storm, Lions, Giants and Suns are the biggest impediment to Perth getting a team any time soon.

..NRL could be propping up team in Perth to cost of millions & with no benefit..

Which is why I cannot see the other clubs voting for a Perth-based team. They might say they're for it in a survey, but when they see how much it relies on the heartland for players and money they'll vote it down.

Thanks to the Dolphins, rugby league attained its highest ever attendance record. A third Brisbane team will nudge attendances above 20k. A Perth-based team could bring them down to 17k (or less).

Dolphins have been an unmitigated success. South Brisbane will too. Perth will never happen
