Perth is at least 20 years away from being a viable option.Dolphins have been an unmitigated success. South Brisbane will too. Perth will never happen

Firehawks were crushers 2.0. Funny u want reds returned also. Doomed to repeat the past..
its 2023! you need to move on from the past, you are hung up on a period 26 years ago. Do you still listen to music on CD's? all those Pearl jam and Alanis Morrissette albums
Absolutely, Western Corridor has been mentioned by NRL officials as far back as the 2000's, there was always going to be calls for a fourth SEQ team even if you revived the Crushers and they played 100% of their games at Suncorp. The region is huge and is a RL heartland. Three sides is too few, four is probably right to cover all corners and grow with our area.Be honest, if firehawks had got in do you think there’d now be calls for Redcliffe So soon? It’s on,y being talked about as dolphins aren’t the genuine brisbane2 club the city needed. Dumb Vlandys.
I wouldn't have minded the Tigers but they aren't ideal. They are an inner city Brisbane club that would basically be a carbon copy of the Broncos. Having said that, I wouldn't have hated it if they got in. They are a great club, but their current thinking shows you that it might not have been the Brisbane 2 you were wanting.South BriShane Firehawks would have been a better choice
all games at suncorp. Broncos covering the north, firehawks covering south. No need for another license to be wasted on brisbane.
easts as owners ticked every box Redcliffe did, the only thing against them was broncos knew they’d be a bigger threat to them and so veto’d them, Imo. In fact given broncos are based in the northern area and afls focus on southern brisbane there’s a strong argument that strategically they would have been a much more logical choice.
donkey himself is the epitome of the failed decision. Despite calling for an alternative to broncos to support for years, he now doesn’t feel dolphins are relevant to him and so refuses to support them.
and before the usual circle jerkers jump in, that’s not to say dolphins are a failure, won’t be successful or are a terrible choice. Just that they clearly haven’t fulfilled the mandate of brisbane2 or we wouldn’t already be calling for brisbane3 and donkey would be in red and gold lol .

In the podcast last week he mentioned they are now called the QLD FIrehawks (yes, they did the impossible and came up with a worse name than Brisbane Firehawks) and the plan is 8 games at Suncorp and 4 games in regional QLD with Toowoomba, Cairns and Mackay being named). It doesn't seem like they are focusing on the south-west at all.I listen to interview. Richo seeming to be all things to all ppl at this stage. If tigers get in it will focus on south & west
Should be "The' Firehawks lol Where's all the fools on here saying they'd abandoned Firehawks brand as it cost them the bid lol?In the podcast last week he mentioned they are now called the QLD FIrehawks (yes, they did the impossible and came up with a worse name than Brisbane Firehawks) and the plan is 8 games at Suncorp and 4 games in regional QLD with Toowoomba, Cairns and Mackay being named). Acknowledged, but he hasn't really put any emphasis on the West which is what the NRL want other than a token game at Toowoomba which is missing the core audience of Western Logan and Ipswich. Why are you obmitting the start of his talk where he stated how important the southern growth area is & how tigers are right in middle of that?!

Anyways, I hope you are right and if they get in they are a team for the south-west and abandon thoughts of Cairns and Mackay
Richos not daft. He knows the greatest threat to their admission is the Broncos. By trying to sound like they arent really Brisbane3 he is hoping Broncos might be less obstructive. He saw it work for 'The' and is following suit.Acknowledged, but he hasn't really put any emphasis on the West which is what the NRL want other than a token game at Toowoomba which is missing the core audience of Western Logan and Ipswich.

So we could have Brisbane2 and Brisbane3 both pretending they arent really Brisbane clubs, hilarious!
The game needs more 'The's'Yeah, really hurt the dolphins focusing on specific area..

Re: the AFL academy in the South-West (which is a red herring because it's just a stadium for AFLW and training base), the AFL pre-Dolphins pumped heaps of money into trying to own North Brisbane through their Burpengary setup.
Regardless of the choice of Brisbane 2, there would have always been calls for a third club. If the Tigers got in there might have been a call for a fourth because they still would have left the north and west unattended.
The bigger picture here is that the NRL are sewing up a huge RL heartland and are set to grow with SEQ into the future.
Dolphins up north
Broncos in the city
Titans down south
Jets out West (final piece of the puzzle)
If it's the Firehawks then great, but their current bid idea does not focus on the west. 8 games Suncorp, four games in regional QLD with Cairns and Mackay being talked about, which is really odd being that it is Cowboys territory.
The Tigers are better off merging their bid with the Jets to get the I.P. that resonates with the west, and going to the NRL and saying, here is your western corridor club, we have the supporters ( through the Jets), the money (Tigers), the stadium (big SEQ derbies at Suncorp and get re-commitment from local and state Government to build the boutique stadium in Ipswich that was part of the Jets original bid). The NRL will probably rubber stamp them on the spot if they did that.
Yep a merger
jets have the geography and easts have the money
mergers work so well lolYep a merger

Don’t be jealousmergers work so well lol
