Fair enough, I get it. I've travelled a lot around Australia and I just didn't feel the vibe of anyone supporting or withstanding expansion other than Brisbane.
Call me a deaf dumb dinosaur ha ha.
So a region that we've ignored for 120 years isn't that big into Rugby League?

I wonder why?

One or two dud clubs

not the big Melbourne clubs

we killed off many of the big Sydney clubs
In 1897, Fitzroy were one of the eight clubs who broke away from the VFA to form the Victorian Football League. Won 8 flags VFL/AFL I think.
After it was intimated that the proposal would be put to a vote, six of the strongest clubs— Collingwood, Essendon, Fitzroy, Geelong, Melbourne and South Melbourne —seceded from the VFA and later invited Carlton and St Kilda to join them in founding a new competition, the Victorian Football League (VFL).

I hear what your saying mate. Foundation clubs need to be protected. Previous administrators prostituted their families.

Chris mckivet gets a good mention as does the 1909 grand final

Don't stress so much mate. You've obviously put a fair bit of effort into your research and unless you are a part of the "Heads of Sheds" our opinions won't win a war.
I think we have to look 20 years into the future because if we look through those glasses we'll see a third Brisbane based team, seem obvious to me.
I'm still not convinced that Adelaide, NZ or Perth are the places for extra teams. Just my opinion and it's not based on trends, facts or expert opinion.

Of all the potential expansion areas, the only ones with enough money and support from government and the corporate sector to make it work right now are the Brisbane Tigers and a Perth consortium. New Zealand is the only other place that could present a bid that has enough corporate support.

My preference is a 20 team competition with NZ2, Brisbane 3 and Perth. I'd like to see some double headers staged in Auckland and Sydney to compliment Magic Round in Brisbane. Parramatta Stadium, SFS and Eden Park would be able to hold at least one double header. each. The Warriors could play against NZ2 at Eden Park for the derby match and team up with them to host a double header. My pick would be to take a couple of Brisbane clubs over to Auckland for a double header to play the Warriors and NZ2 at Eden Park.

mate, I think you have some serious mental problems, or you are a good troll... I don't know what else to say? this whole reply is just deranged. Firstly I'm not even pushing for an Adelaide team, I'm using them as an example of an area that has very little exposure to the sport. I can't even remember what the crux of that debate was?

Everything else in this reply is just laughable - i don't even have to address it, it's just contrived emotional drivel. You're an appalling representative of Brisbane by the way and just embarrassing anyone who is from there.
You once said anyone who supported Donald Trump and not Hillary Clinton must be mentally ill.

Let that sink in.

he outed himself as a Trump supporter in another thread so he is not of sound mind

Anyone who doesn't think just like you and has a mind of their own is "mentally ill".

Tell me again how you think the media companies and ARLC are conspiring to keep rugby league out of Perth?

You once said the ARLC and ARU have a secret agreement to not put an NRL team in Perth so that the Western Force don't have any competition.

I have a theory which might be a bit tin foil hat but I reckon the NRL (news) has or had a secret agreement with ARU to stay out of WA to give the Force and Australian Rugby "space".

That's the sort of insular thinking that our game is known for unfortunately.

In 30 years we've expanded by only by adding two new teams in SEQ, and now we are saying let's add a third?

Yes going interstate, it's a big investment, but is the League flush with funds, and won't said investment pay off long term via TV rights, player numbers, increased fans and corporate sponsors?

Don't we won't to be a national sport? And not a two state regional one?

..wait ppl still think TV wants Perth despite them actually saying they want Brisbane 3?!

Do you not see the irony of suggesting the ARLC fund expansion into Adelaide?

You claimed I must be on drugs when I said the ARLC should take the third game of each Origin series to Townsville and Newcastle, on an alternating basis, to reward the regional areas that have supported the game for decades.

You argued against it because the smaller stadia in Townsville and Newcastle would cost the game money due to fewer ticket sales.

Now you're suggesting the ARLC create an Adelaide team and fund it until some one from the business community is willing to buy the licence. You want the game to turn down the Brisbane Tigers' bid, despite them having over $25m in cash reserves and about $35m in net assets. The Brisbane Tigers won't need any additional funding on top the annual grant that is distributed to each club.

News Ltd and the ARLC funded an additional $100m into the Storm between 98-17. This was separate to the annual grant.

When News Ltd sold the Storm and relinquished their 50% stake in the game in 2012 they made the ARLC fund $30m into the Storm until 2017 to make them more palatable on the open market.

The Storm average 16k at a state of the art stadium with a team that's been extremely successful since 1998. The old stadium they played at drew significantly less people through the gates.

An Adelaide team will be playing at a dump that drew shithouse crowds to the FIFA Womens World Cup while Lang Park and Stadium Australia were playing in front of sell out crowds. Soccer is played in large numbers across Adelaide. Rugby league is lucky to have a couple hundred people playing in Adelaide.

The Brisbane Tigers will have no problem drawing 25k crowds to Lang Park and securing $10m or more per annum from sponsorship. You want to keep them out for a team in Adelaide that no one in South Australia is willing to support financially. I believe you refer to stupid ideas like this as "brain farts" and accuse the people who make then of "punching cones".

Why do you keep using Adelaide as an arguement?

I've barely mentioned it.

If, I didn't know any better, I'd say you're being disingenuous.

Perth is the next candidate for mine..

The Origin thing is a non-sequitor deflection. And, for the record, a highly stupid idea.

I'm not a fan of Trump, but I preferred him to his opponent because he wasn't an advocate for meaningless wars. The only time the media and Hillary praised Trump was when he launched a missile into Syria. Other than that he kept America out of war. Hillary spent her entire political career pushing meaningless wars. It's sad when some one who prefers the candidate that is against war is considered "not of sound mind" just because the media said "orange man bad" ad nauseum.

Keep this shit out of here.

Australians whose identity is tied to US politics are sad losers.
