There was huge demand for a 2nd Brisbane club, the Nudgee Tip bin chickens could have been successful such is the novelty factor. I'm not sure there is the demand for a 3rd club yet... It would follow the law of diminishing returns. There wouldn't be anywhere near the same buzz and it could even spoil the dynamic. I would be truly shocked if they announced another Brisbane team, not saying they wouldn't survive, they surely would but the announcement would be a bit underwhelming.

the titans avg’d 20k plus for first 4 years. Let’s see what they’re pulling in 5 years then decide if brisbane3 is needed.

Hopefully the NRL learn from the Titans' setbacks. Stadiums Queensland set rental so high the Titans needed to sell 18k tickets to draw even. I have no doubt that the amount was based on the crowds they got in their first few seasons. Then things nosedived and the club was f**ked.

When Perth gets a team we need to make sure the club can break even from a 12k attendance. Preferably 10k should be the mininum needed to draw even.

The ARLC might have no choice but to go with the Brisbane Tigers. PNG will require $25m a year from the Aus Gov and will never be popular with the RLPA.

We don't know how much money the Perth business sector is willing to spend or how many active fans it be need to break even without gaming machines.

Brisbane Tigers have $25m in cash reserves and $35m in net assets. They're the safest option for the ARLC. The one thing V'landys has said over the last three years is the business case has to stack up. Politis believes the 18th team should be the Brisbane Tigers or Ipswich Jets for this reason. Of the three potential bids, only Brisbane 3 can guarantee that it will never need financial assistance from the ARLC.

Dolphins only the north. Plenty of fans in south probably want their own team

The demand for a third team is evident by the fact the Brisbane Tigers and Ipswich Jets want a spot in the NRL.

We have no evidence that the ARLC has ruled against adding a third team in Brisbane by 2028. Only a few posters on here with an agenda have decided that the 18th team will not be from Brisbane.

I get called biased by the usual suspects, but that's the pot calling the kettle black.

Ironically, the reason I spoke against Sydney's nine teams for so long was because I was constantly told it would be "bad" for Brisbane to become more like Sydney. When I said "okay, since Sydney is apparently 'bad' then let's 'fix it'", I was told by the same people it needs to be left as it is!

There's no logic with these people. I've seen them say we cannot have more than two Brisbane clubs because it might make the attendances for the Broncos, Dolphins and Brisbane 3 more like the other clubs. In other words, Brisbane has to be held to a higher standard so we can introduce teams in markets that aren't all that interested in the game and will rely on talent from NSW and Queensland. They remind me of illegal immigrants who demand citizenship and welfare ahead of Australians who've been tax payers all of their life.

Hbf park rental is nothing like what qlnd govt charges. It’s only $80-100k a game.

Your making a big assumption without knowing who is on the perth bid, what they are worth, what the wa govt is willing to front up and if perth ends up partnering with a east coast 2nd tier club. Simple reality is none of us know what the nrl wants, what’s on the table or where they will go next.
