Brisbane Tigers make their bid to be 18th team

Hbf park rental is nothing like what qlnd govt charges. It’s only $80-100k a game.

A Perth team should be able to make significant revenue from a deal that good. They'd only need to sell 10k tickets at $10 per head to break even.

It they sell 12k tickets at $25 per head then they make $300k. Subtract the $100k rental fee and they're taking home $200k per game and $2.4m.a year. I'd imagine they could generate at least $7-12m from sponsorship and corporate hospitality. Perth is a rich city.

Demand comes from the buyer, not the seller

The ARLC has not shown any demand for a team in Adelaide and Perth. That's a fact.

Can you provide a single statement from the ARLC stating they have a preference for a team in Adelaide and Perth over Brisbane 3?

There's plenty of statements from the ARLC acknowledging the Brisbane Tigers and Ipswich Jets are a chance of acquiring the 18th licence.

We've got the Head of Strategy WWOS stating the network wants a fifth Queensland team. They said nothing about Adelaide and Perth. Ch9 are one of the "buyers".

No doubt you'll ignore all of these inconvenient facts because they don't support your preference for teams in Adelaide and Perth.

Your making a big assumption without knowing who is on the perth bid, what they are worth, what the wa govt is willing to front up and if perth ends up partnering with a east coast 2nd tier club. Simple reality is none of us know what the nrl wants, what’s on the table or where they will go next.

V'landys has said ad nauseum that the business case needs to stack up. One of the reasons Redcliffe got the 17th licence is because they had money up their sleeve to use as collateral. There's only one potential bid with money up their sleeve. Brisbane Tigers.

My assumptions on Perth are based on what the clubs in the heartland areas are able to generate. I am not convinced that a Perth-based NRL club will be able to generate more revenue from sponsorship, corporate hospitality, ticketing, membership and merchandise than most of the clubs in NSW and Queensland. Perth does have a lot of interstate migrants from Brisbane and Sydney, but at the end of the day most of its population are dyed in the wool fumbleball fans.

No that's a nonsensical sentence.

Prove it dumb arse.

The WA Gov came to Brisbane during Magic Round to discuss expansion. V'landys told him to "talk with the Bears".

Can you provide any statement from the NRL saying they have a preference for for a team over any other?

The ARLC has a preference for whichever proposal provides the best business case. They've been telling us this since 2020.

Ipswich Jets isn't south, its far west, it's the equivalent of sydneys penrith or tigers in campbelltown... (with bronx being soufs/easts, dolphins being manly/knights, and titans being dragons in WIN)
What you want a is another cronulla/bulldogs in redlands/logan being a South side

I do however agree its a great place to base another Brisbane3 team tho... but its not Ipswich so it doesn't have to be the jets

What council area is Springfield in?!
Fair enough, but again Brisbane only has the 4 main councils..
Its a lot more convoluted in Sydney, not saying that its acceptable or an excuse...
I do think theyll be another SEQ Franchise, just wont be for a while yet... gotta let the dolphins set in

Any Bri3 team will play out of Suncorp. There isn't a stadium in every second suburb like in Sydney. These dots on maps will mean nothing, the team will offer nothing that the Broncos (or Dolphins) don't already offer, except a different colour jersey.

I believe that they all will play out of lang park. Improved train system will be key (not specifically for league expansion lol).
Springfield is earmarked as big population center

If they can keep jets IP it's a plus..
What about "Souths Magpies" out of Springfield
Isn't that more of a south/north divide with the excuse of being so close to suncorp that they'd play there, even tho the actual base is in Springfield, can do what the dolphins are doing in that respect
Also mal meningas team from the BRL.
Not sure that they have the money to bid for a licence compared to easts tigers tho

So why are you bothering with meaningless dots on Google maps?
