Tbh it doesn't sit well with me that smaller clubs aren't given equal opportunity by the competition admin. A prime example is TV scheduling - we see the same teams on FTA TV almost every week because they rate better. It affects the sponsorship value of these clubs. Is the solution to give every team equal TV slots? Probably not, then we have the competition getting less money from TV rights, which effects everyone negatively.

Would you like us to ditch our board and get a crapper, poorer, less connected board to put us on the same level as Furner and friends?

I agree that there should be cap concessions for local juniors, and long serving players. Would go a long way to encouraging loyalty within the game - and every club, regardless of junior numbers, is capable of keeping players long term. Except the Bulldogs.

I'm not sure if there is any evidence of Politis ever knocking such an idea on the head, that's pure speculation - I do recall Gallop umming and aahing his way through that one though, something about not wanting to disadvantage bla bla bla.

Hard for us to keep our kids when your club has makes 400k deals at 3-4 of them and now SBW will make it 4-5?

try and keep up sunshine, i addressed this matter a few hours ago.

Still not acknowledging SBW's already existent contract with 9?

You've accused Politis of using his ex-position to his advantage but can't admit you were wrong.

Easy targets, soft people.

What are you on about, we're signing SBW from Rugby Union. Another victory for Rugby League by the Roosters, you selfish bastard.

Im talking about your cheap shot at the dogs and keeping kids, yet your club has been full of dogs from anasta, myles, o'meley, mason and now maybe sbw. did i miss anyone?

Mason & SBW walked out on your club without any help from us... selective memory?

I know exactly what skeepes point was re the tv, as i stated, politis is a very influencial figure in the game, this deal stinks of politis's influence

Now i dont blame the roosters or uncle nick for taking advantage of this, if my club were able to do so, id expect them to be doing what ever they could to give themselves the best chance for success. That doesnt change the fact its unfair.

The fact is in the 80's, the Roosters were gone. So much so there was talking of a merger with Souths and then St George. Souths was squibbed and St George was preferred but their members voted it out. The club was broke. Politis started networking. Set up some big business/ millionaire club that had a box at the SFS and set up the Club to be where it is today. By the mid 90's we were on the up and off the canvas. So dont tell me it is unfair. Politis worked damned hard to keep it alive.

Whilst the Roosters have access to corporate Sydney you need to focus on the positves. Your Club should hound the pollies, get them involved. Who hasnt got more connected then a federal pollie etc.

You need to refresh yourself on SBW's interviews. The man is as thick as a plank, and easily one of the dumbest pricks to ever grace this fine land. Dugan is an idiot, no question but please have some respect for SBW and his bus driver interview

True... but still more intelligent than Dugan.

Dugan has a rats tail... enough said.

The opening line tells you the story, it tells you my issue. You cant tell me Politis's influence within the game, his influence with Channel Nine and Gyngell who he is very close to, hasnt played a part in getting this deal done. You're outside your mind if you dont think Politis's influence hasnt played a role in channel 9 coming to the table this deal, in fact the article itself pretty much confirms it

He is the roosters chairman. It’s his job to use whatever resources he can to sign players.

What pisses me off is whilst these sorts of deals are being arranged for the big market clubs to get a big name player like SBW and the Roosters. The Raiders are left to fend for themselves and might actually have to try and compete with a similar style deal from a glitzy big market team to keep a home grown junior like Dugan.

So you are upset that a team will potentially poach Dugan.

What has this to do with the roosters and SBW?

How is a club like mine supposed to be expected to keep talented players when a big market club can come in offer him 800k a year, tee up deals elsewhere to get him over a mil, where as we can only offer him cap money due to our location and market? The only way we can be allowed to compete is through cap dispensations for locally developed kids, but that wont ever happen because people like Politis knock it on its head every time the idea is raised because it likely damages his club

Well your board has 2 options.

Lobby the NRL for cap compensation or be proactive and deal with the fact we are in a commercial market and start trying to gain the influence needed to sign players.

What kids?

You guys chose topping up SBW over Anasta and O'Meley. Not our problem your club put their $ on one guy.

LOL yes the massive overs you threw at anasta and myles had nothing to do with it.

What kids?

Hrmm currently running round playing football somewhere other then our club. Anasta, Myles, Mason, SBW, Asotasi, Luke, Thurston, Idris, Mataiu, Sherwin.. Not many at all.

Not to forget the likes of Hazem and Price recently retired. Can you please remind me what roosters have been poached that were of ANY quality?

Your club chose SBW and for once had to adhere to the salary cap.

You're stretching including JT, Sherwin, Maitua and Luke.

We don't let players go we want to keep. Not our problem your club has a revolving front door

Anasta, Myles, Mason, O'Meley, Koupartits, SBW

Can't say I'm terribly disappointed the Roosters took any of those players off our hands. If I were Politis I'd have my lawyers etching SBW's contract into stone outside of Easts Leagues

Funny to see Doggies fans having a go at the Roosters, when the Bulldogs are essentially the western Sydney version of the Roosters.
And Raiders fans should be whingeing about your rotten management and players who won't put in.

I've only seen one Bulldogs fan have a go at the Roosters on this forum, and I'm not entirely sure he's a real person. As I said, I couldn't care less if the Roosters are interested in SBW, good luck to them, but he should come with a warning sign, because he's a weed and a mercenary. Judging by the fact he's had 4 clubs since 2008 across 2 sports, and the fact that he takes whatever Mundine and Nasser say as gospel

As for players the roosters want to keep don't leave. There is noone in your club from your products that any club wants. thats why they don't leave. The only ones any club would have an interest in the roosters pay massive overs to keep e.g skd, pearce. 350k, 400k each is a joke.
