I smell a carve up
You couldn't argue civil liberties in any forum. Why don't you pi@#ss off and bone up on
your next pub trivia night.
Are you old enough to remember when Australia rejected Paul Keating's Australia card? .
Whether it was Hawke of Keating isn't really the point.
It is a shame you have so little understanding of modern history.
The fact remains, a government tried to introduce a national identity card.
Whether it was Hawke of Keating isn't really the point. Congratulations on writing more
than a sentence though. This is a break through time for you, although you couldn't actually
respond to the point of the post.
It is a shame you have so little understanding of modern history. It would be far more useful
that your historical knowledge which would is worthy of a pub quiz.[/QUOTE]
Nice edit, and completely logical. I wish I could match your lofty intellectual heights.
Hey Crazy Tiger, I have a great way for you to prove your intelligent supriority over everyone here. You sate that the police have to much power, what are you suggestions to reduce this power, What would the end game look like in your search for civil liberties?
I think we can safely say there is no chance of that. The fact remains, a government tried to introduce a national identity card.

:sarcasm:
CrazyTiger. Do you want positive or negative freedoms? Positive or negative?
No introduction of mandatory sentencing for the murder of a policeman. Leave it up to the judicial system.
He'll be back to you soon, just Googling.

That is non sensical. My idea of freedom, is being left alone to go about my own business
and not be bothered by a society that is trying to preempt every possible thing that could
ever go wrong. Others like the idea of a nanny state (a kind of benevolent Police state)
where we are made to feel safe by government through constant interference in day to
day living.
I count four fails in just two sentences

I hate to burst your bubble guys but in this instance CrazyTigPie has a well considered point of view. Complaining about who was PM at the time is pure semantics and demonstates total ignorance and disregard of logic.

I can understand not wanting to be bothered by big brother etc... but that's a strange notion of freedom, but pretty accurate of what a lot of people tend to think freedom is these days. It's not though, it's probably closer to an apathetic anarchism.
