The question I would ask, would be, why is Maloney getting isolated? He shouldn’t have to be making one on one tackles in the line.

He's sprinting out isolating himself.

Are you serious?

He's putting himself in those positions and leaving the other guys having to cover his poor decisions..

He has been great for us. But you cant blame his defensive issues on anyone other than himself. The sevond he rushes out and misses we have a huge hole in our defensive line and thr guys around him cant commit fully to any defensive decision.

Rushing out is great if you can make the tackle. Its terrible if you miss it.

Rubbish, the cowboys just put a good play on for the Morgan try, the only other times I’ve seen him do that is because other players around him have been caught out of position.

So Griffin is just a puppet ? Makes sense... I don't know, I don't see us winning a comp under Griffin I see us winning one if Madge was coaching us even Toovey....

I dunno really. I kinda like having the fittest team in the comp. With all the injuries its about all we've got going for us at the moment.

One other thing, if you were going to have a puppet coach surely you'd have one with stonger public communication skills than him.

Where else has Maloney missed rushed out of the line, missed a tackle that has lead to a try. ?
Other than him trying to make up for someone else being caught out of position, like Kiks in the Centres.

Clearly its Yeo thats the issue. They defend together and Maloney is trying yo pick up the slack.

Maloney's defence was always going to be a concern. He had surprised me in earlier games, was actually more than holding his own and changing the momentum in the game with some tackles.

He is getting more regularly found out now. Cowboys/sharks both did a job on him. Needs to evolve.

Instead of making you standard obviously stupid comments, why don’t you provide a few examples of where Maloney’s defence has been a big problem for us.

Yep not much we can do about it just need to tread water until the bye week try to get Atleast 1 more win

This is how I'm seeing it. Very hard to be a good defencive unit while everyone is playing musical positions.

Maloney is terrible at completing tackles. He is an effective defender in a well functioning line though which is what we’ve seen for most of the year. When everyone rushes up together, he typically can cut down/slow down a bloke with help to shut it down right there. We need Whare and Yeo around him and they just need to match his style because he won’t change.

There isn't a side in the competition who can cope with the sort of injury toll we are currently experiencing.

Sadly, it is going to ruin any chances we may have had for making the top four and if things don't improve any time soon perhaps making the top eight.

That's the reality of our injury woes.

Countless tries have been scored through him. You just blame other people for his mistakes. Although the stats speak for themselves (i know you hate stats. But they hold more weight than opinions based on what you want to be true).




Maloney has missed almost 50% more tackles than the second worst defender in the competition. 65 missed tackles and it's only Round 9.

He has been a great signing for us. Im not trying to suggest otherwise. Just pointing out the fact hes a defensive liability and its not his teammates fault.

20 is a huge difference.
