Can't be bothered reading the whole thread but seriously is there any point to a cap when there are all these other options available to sign players outside of it.

Good luck to Souths but the whole comp is a big f**king joke.
The same options are available to all teams

If Rusty can sign Burgess for $150k(this was proven,as the contract submitted)then Inglis is probably only on $175k,no probs.
Anyone who thinks Inglis is not dumb enough to get caught up in salary cap rorting again have never listened to or read anything he has said or written.
Hell he doesn't know which state Bowraville is in,he now thinks Redfern is near Brisbane, near his future wife, this guy has no cred left at all now, another player to fall under the "Mans' influence.

Was the money the phonechucker spent wining and dining him in England ever submitted? $150k, pigs arse.

No they are not. A team like Brisbane has a tonne more third-party options to pay their players than clubs like Cronulla.

Granted, any club in reality is able to dominate, so there are few problems with the system; look at the records for finals series, pretty much every team has been involved in the finals in the last five-six years.

Ken Sutcliffe has just said on twitter that Inglis and Mundine will be on 9 news tonight. Will be interesting to hear what GI has to say (his own words, and not just speculation and rumors and hearsay).

I can barely understand his own words anyway. Can anyone here interpret 'mumble'.

Does anyone remember the last time Mundine was on The Footy Show (Thursday)? Talk about too many knocks to the head. His speech and cognitive abilities have taken a beating since he played league (literally).

Too lazy to play fullback.

He last played fullback in 06 I think. He can't run 200m a game anymore. Didn't you see him give up after 60 in the gatorade challenge?
Round 12, 2007 was his last time at fullback

Inglis at Fullback (all for Storm) - Played 15, Won 11, Lost 4, Scored 13 tries.

2 things

-firstly, Cronulla would have more third-party opportunities if they hadn't sat on the bottom of the table plagued by scandals for the last 2 seasons, although admittedly not as many as some other clubs, which leads me to...

-Maybe Cronulla should think about whether they have what it takes to compete in the NRL if they are going to spend their existence whinging.

GI going to Souths will be a good test of his ability to score points in a club that is not as strong as others...no offence intended to Souths fans.

Either way, it would be good for league to see them push further into the finals next year with the assistance of Inglis.

Souths are at the very top in terms of point scoring ability.

True, but they can only source out those third party deals though, not guarentee them.

Souths need the aim up in defence and need to have some cohesion from their halves. That's the main problem, that will continue to be a problem unless they correct them. Regardless of who they sign, they need to sharpen their defensive positioning. Also signing a center, fullback, winger is only good if your halves have cohesion, be aware of options and execute the best option for the play. If they fix this up, which they are very capable of then they will be a contender next year bar injuries. I hope they can go all the way.

On a side note what's the chances GI will slip on a Norths jersey and having a run in nswrl?
