It is really time the sharks or asada come out with an official statement. Not the pre printed one issued yesterday that was written 3 weeks ago. We need true, accurate information. All this stuff being sprouted wether true, blatently false or a mixture of truth and lies is killing us, and the game in general.

Why isn't the heat coming down, hard, on people like Elkin and Danks? Wasn't the aim of the probe to rid sport of the involvement of organised crime?

Precisely.

I have never seen the WADA Banned Substance List, but you would have to think that it is exhaustive.
Then to have an edict that atheletes cannot take anything on that list, nor anything which is not on the list which has a similar effect, is surely too much for the average athlete to keep up with. That, surely, is why sporting organisations have medical staff on their payroll.

I may be oversimplifying this, but if there is a banned substance list, why is there not an "approved substance" list? Then it's a matter of if it's on this list, take it. If it's not, don't.

Agree. Could only happen to us. Extensions for players who may be banned. Some of them we wouldn't want in normal circumstances. Well bang goes JT.i didnt see us as high as some but even if clean playing under this pressure will take its toll. Unless we take voluntary bans etc or get banned by ASADA this wont die down. Will affect all 3 grades, future recruitment and retention. How long before Flanno's position questioned? Surely the coach has to know or be responsible for what is going on. He must control sports scientists etc. Givney to come under scrutiny for not reporting Danks to the NRL. Soap opera to run all year. Poor Flanno and the players hung out to dry. Like others have said we are first targetted as the obvious weak link. We will chew up thousands in legal fees. ASADA will be careful not to leave themselves open for a law case. Thats why no-one has been named. Will affect the crowd for sure. We cant fill the place for a game on a public holiday with good weather when playing well.i predict about 13k.

Yep. Thats the way i see it as well. Im sure we will get yelled at by some for being wrist cutters, but after the development, after the signings for this year, i was REALLY looking forward to this year, i thought we would do well....then this.
I suppose Weaponhead is right, but i believed this year would be different through all the hard work the back of house has done. Now i already feel defeated.

The club did not sanction the nature of the supplement program set up by Danks & Elkin, and Danks was terminated as soon as the club did become aware of it.

So suggesting that Flanagan or Givney should come under scrutiny is ridiculous - they are the ones that protected us from Danks as soon as they became aware - they both deserve a medal !!

You'd think if we fought this injustice long enough other clubs and teams would jump on the bandwagon to support us ....not because they like us but because they know this could happen to them next!!

It's constantly evolving and this is why we have a problem now. Also the drug in question is open conjecture as to weather it enhances performance or not. It does aid/accelerate recovery though.

I am with you. They do deserve a medal. I just don't think they will get one. They will be hammered for letting Danks act unsupervised. It's just my theory. I agree with others who would like to see the NRL act on this. How dodgy was Danks thought to be before we got him? Essendon are stuffed. They picked him up after we sacked him.

Ok so I got a call back from a bristling NRL Media Manager John Brady (admittedly I had sent him an un-named nasty text, so fair play to him for calling back).

I can't post what he said here due to forum guidelines other than say he shares many of our frustrations with the ASADA process and the NRL most certainly hasn't left the sharks out to dry on their own.

what injuries can be helped to heal quicker through this process Danks/Elkin used?

Does it help on injured muscles only?
Does it help injured ligaments?
Does it help other joint related injuries?

Thanks Windy.

That's the bit that gets me riled. The average athlete is not a f**king bio-chemist
