Why is a glancing blow on a Panthers player dangerous contact, but leading with the head or kneeing a Dragons player in the face isn’t?

Ray Stone only getting a fine is a joke. It was yet another f**king cannonball tackle. I reckon we’ve had more in 2 rounds this year than we did the last 2 seasons combined - and nobody has been suspended yet.

When are the NRL going to get serious about rubbing this out of the game? Because right now they’re basically encouraging it.

It's because the Sharks didn't have a cry and whinge like Parra and Mitch Moses did 😉

This grading system is terrible.
Grade 1 dangerous throw is $1k fine, grade 2 jumps to 2 weeks.
Fighting grade 2 and losing goes to 3 weeks.

Surely it should go fine, 1 week, 2 weeks etc.

Fwiw I think 1 week was probably the right punishment for Hastings. I thought 2 games was a touch harsh, 3 weeks is well over the top.

The judiciary are farcical with their consistency.

I’d love to hear a justification as to why Sua’s is grade 2 and Ramien’s is grade 1.

Su'a was crouching to make a shot and Dale fell into him. Grade 2 is really harsh - Su'a was doing everything right and had no time to adjust as Finucane dropped.
As I said two weeks ago, the judiciary has cone beyond ridiculous.

Nelson lines up maka and does deliberate strike and only gets fine … these guys just trying to tackle and goes wrong cop ban.
What is worse I leave it to you

The judiciary is a complete joke.

NAS comes in, the player is already held, clenched fist with swinging arm to the head. How can that be seen as grade one careless! The lowest grading possible.

The NRL needs to post up what defines a grading at each level, do they even have guidelines for this or just go with grading based on who it is and who they play for?

Hmmm so two of these were deemed to be a Grade 1 charge, whilst one is a grade 2?

SUA.jpg

Exhibit A: Su'a - bends his knees, lowers his back, hits with his shoulder. Good front on tackling technique, Finucane drops forward in the wet, contact with head. Finucane clutches his face, farcical sin bin ensues. "Direct, forceful contact with the head"....yet no HIA required for Finucane. GRADE 2

ramien.jpg

Exhibit B: Ramien - on his tippy toes as his target zone is high (well above the ball), risky tackling technique for injury to self (shoulder, pec) and opposition player (head). Tackle slips high, player sin binned. GRADE 1

NAS.jpg

Exhibit C: NAS - 3rd man into a tackle that he was not needed for, clenched fist, direct contact to the back/side of head against a player he had a running battle with. No sin bin, GRADE 1.

wtf am i missing here?

If the NRL are fair dinkum about player safety, protecting against concussion, out of the 3 tackling techniques, they've gone and suspended the one technique that should be encouraged, bending your back, driving through the hips and hitting low......and let the other 2 off with just a fine?

Nah it all makes perfect sense now...

"He also goes on to say that Luke Patten form the MRC claimed that this incident was a tackle with the forearm from Nelson to the back of Makatoa’s head and was considered careless and risk of injury is “low”".
