This is the Greatest Drummer of All Time right? We're looking for the Don Bradman of drums yeah?

I cannot believe that in 6 pages no-one has mentioned Buddy Rich.

Hang your heads in shame.

Fair point.

He was my idol when I was learning as a kid. My teacher was old school.

Another absolute legend, a Hall of Famer that has been overlooked thus far is the legendary Gene Krupa.

He was a visionary too, much more than just a brilliant drummer. How many drummers have one of their kits in the Smithsonian?

I relly dont know how Urlich got where he is, he reminds me a lot of Ringo

a 10 year old kid can replicate his drum beats and I dare say alot of 8 year olds

he must have just been in the right place at the right time, if you compare him with some one as complex as Carey or Mangini its like they play a different instrument

charlie is meant to be one of the best ever in his day .

That is coming from Keiths book.
The stones had to pay him to join the band as he was in so much demand .
His timing is said to be near perfect.

he was very average, everyone in the Stones got paid, no big deal

Charlie is a jazz drummer. Always was and always will be. Just a quick look at his upright style tells a story.

Charlie was getting hired by the best muso's in London when he was a 20 yr old.
That is before the stones.

He is vey good at his style.

He left all the wankerism stuff up to mick.
Something Lars should have done.
