Man of the Match: Russell Packer....no need to explain why.

The Tigers tried their absolute rings out tonight and tried for 80 minutes. Ultimately , we just don't have the cattle yet. Anybody who says we do is absolutely kidding themselves!
Harsh, we had a lot of troops out and a few injured tonight, all fully fit, it may have been different. But we were out played tonight.

And Brookes came on? .. (and Walters and Benji separates?)I’m working so only guessing for now
He went ok, one ordinary defensive mistake when he was defending in the left side. Douehi injury really stuffed us in attack and defence. No good having a specialist half on the bench

Well against the team leading the comp and with no ball in the 2nd half and it was only 8-4 in that 2nd half. They held in there.
The bench was good, they had to be.
Oliver Clark was very good, Brooks showed that he can run the ball and Blore, WOW how good was he and loved that little battle with Nathan Brown.
Mybe had his best game once he moved to fullback and Benji, right to the end, he tried as did Marshall, Packer, Aloiia and Grant.

Thought Nofoaluma, Leilua and Walters were disappointing.

AD, do not know about him.

Looking at the stats there’s some good things coming out of the tigers, 405 tackles for 25 missed is exceptional. Eels 348 for 32 missed. I’m starting to feel we’re not far away, we were playing with a makeshift team tonight, eels dominated us but there were important areas were we have really improved. I’ll put it out there and say we have top four potential next year.

A goal kicker will ensure it.

The game was lost in the first half. Neither team was willing to roll up the sleeves in defence. A 2-3 try lead was there for the taking.

Second half was extremely gutsy. Hopefully some of these missing players are back soon and we can turn these gutsy losses into gutsy wins.

I don’t know how you could be anything but proud of that

The team is absolutely turning a corner in regards to toughness

We were missing 6 of our starting 17 and lost 3 guys to injury, copped a 8-2 penalty count, 3-1 set restarts and had 21% of possession for the first 25 mins of the 2nd half against the team coming 2nd

Any 2012-2019 WTs side concedes 50

Honestly if we had a fullback who knew how to catch and wasn’t completely cluessless in positioning we probably win

We debuted a kid who looks an out and out star. Next week Twal, Mikaele, Garner and Reynolds are back. Bj the week after

Good things are coming

Hope Douehi not disheartened he had a couple of really shit plays, caught out of position a few times but some
Of the other stuff with ball in hand at parras end has been ok. He is developing nicely.

He's not a natural fullback. Yes he's a decent ball player, but he doesn't follow the ball through the middle like natural ball runners do. I'm not sure whether him being out of position on the Moses try was due to defensive structure being coached or not, so I won't be too critical on that one.

I just wish we stopped trying to manufacture fullbacks out of halves.
