All 4 of Hunt, Widdop, Norman & Dufty can be slotted 7,6,4 & 1

Once the Chosen Ones r moved out.

It’s the Latkens causing the fuc*kin’ selection logjam & porous defence

Just try it Waterboy!

Only one positional change involved, instead of multiple disruptions -

& I’d pay dollars to see Duff running off Norman, Widdop, Hunt, Lomax & Robson - with Field as sub.

Throw in Ravalawa & Pearson & suddenly we have a very mobile backline IMHO

So much faith in untried, unpredictable players!

I agree with your thoughts, Norman in the centres is a good option for 2019, he can work his way into the team from there while Widdop and Hunt run the attack, keep Dufty where he best belongs and give Lomax exposure to multiple positions from the bench, I would be worried about Lomax being on the wing, both for the team and for him. Then in 2020 move Norman to the halves and Lomax into the centres.

Lomax to the bench? Wow, that’s a new one.

There is a real danger that by chopping and changing our players to facilitate one extra Fullback and one extra half/ hooker, we will always have a clunky spine and one team containing three confused play makers.

I think Norman is a good player but chopping and changing spine rarely if ever works. Mary needs a page our of Wayne Bennett's cold blooded book

He puts team harmony & absolute loyalty to the PALs above winning.

No dissent protects his job, as he understands that disunity is death - & coaches that lose the dressing room r toast.

Fu*k professionalism, game plans, progressing talent & rewarding form.

Or picking the best 17

He’s perpetually afraid because it’s all too complicated beyond the backslapping cameraderie of the boys club.

Best example is his low IQ mind freeze when it comes to bench use in a shifting game dynamic - which was there for all to see Sat night & in every game in the past 4 years - and in every delusional utterance the poor bugger makes

Truly unbelievable in this day and age

I think we are switching the team around to accommodate our coaches desires.....tbh Dufty should remain at fullback, (he went ok last year)drop Aitken, put Norman in the centres with Lafai leave Widdop and Hunt in the halves and put young Lomax on the bench (in wont do him any harm to cover as long as he gets some game time each week) and if there's any injuries or positional changes to be made to add some variation depending on who we are playing then we can do some rotation...just my thoughts this early in the season

Yes,
Keeping Hunt & Widdop as our pairing would be safest and best option, especially early on.
Let Norman settle in the centres which is good for defence and attack.
Duffy at fullback.
Lomax sharing time on the bench and keeping Lafai honest.
Robson on the bench.
K. Simms on the bench.
Plus another forward.

Souths made their choice between McInnes and Cook a couple of years ago. We should be making a similar decision between McInnes and Robson now, before another club signs Robson.

Mary has already made it known that he will carry a back on the bench so given that we need two props on the bench and along with at least one backrow forward. So it seems that there is no room for Robson and McInnes in the team. Wrong decision but that's Mary's form for the past 5 years.

Cook as in chef maybe but he certainly wasn’t carving up when he left us
If I remember right, he played fullback for most of the time with us. The Dogs gave him a chance playing hooker but restricted his urge to run. Souths gave him a chance at hooker and encouraged him to run. At one stage both Cook and McInnes were up for grabs at Souths, we offered McInnes a deal and he did not end up taking it up. I don't think Cook was offered a deal at that time by SGI.

McInnes came to the Dragons because Souths offered Cook a deal to be the second string hooker behind Farrah. Cook soon become the first choice hooker for Souths and we got McInnes.
