New Zealand 2 will deal a massive blow to NZ rugby

The real trouble is that the demographic for Rugby in NZ are older. I read somewhere that the majority are pre 1975 and they are struggling to engage with younger generations.
The game is dying with old men like Te kah. No wonder he's upset.

Except that's not even close to the truth. But that never stops you.

A fan site is a "source" now? wow.. low bar.

To confirm your post

Then there is this

Teenage participation in union is down 17 percent

So covid figures are indicative now?

Listing Australian figures to support NZ viewership declines? that's a little odd.

Rugby clubs are shutting or sparsely populated, particularly in the big cities. Auckland, once a rugby powerhouse, is a long-running embarrassment and thus growing somewhat indifferent to rugby as a code.

I know that you are trying really hard but I wasn’t referring to fumbleball and GWS with that post. Last time I checked fumbleball are not a monopoly in any case

I was referring to this belief that Sky are going to pay more for a second team when they are a monopoly.

It doesn't matter what ur point was. My point is more important & gets to heart of expansion issues

Yeah but that’s an everywhere problem, not an NZ problem.

For sure. CTE is scaring everybody, unless something is done there is only one ending for them. Like I have said before, unless something changes, "Touch" will be the only "Rugby" left.

They couldn't share a venue with a Super Rugby team?

In Christchurch yes
In Wellington no because the venue has a cap on the number of night games it can host and it’s already near its limit
In Auckland there’s no point as the Warriors prefer to stay at Mt Smart
In Hamilton or Dunedin they theoretically could but they’re not realistic markets for an NRL side, especially Dunedin

Realistically Christchurch is the only place that would be practical. Wellington if the issue of night games could be solved

That could be why the article posted mentioned using both cities

Easy workaround is day games

warriors have shown Sunday midday gets good ratings in Australia and adds another unique timeslot

its funny some of these nz posters don’t know that nrl games are also played during the day

it’s like they have never watched the warriors in their life but still find time to post thousands of times on a rugby league forum

What aload of bullshit there Wally. The Warriors games are worst rated in Australia. That has been shown time and time again in this thread, even by you! I know you are stupid, but come on you are better than that.

Even in preseason they rated lowest of the games.
