I think the preferred position here is that Junior has had a poor season that hasn’t lived up to his price tag / potential.
Much more realistic than you assuming he’s needling up every week.

I am a big Jnr fan he isn't a leader though so I am not sure how he is a club captain Reg played big minutes on Friday night what BA wants from his forwards and mad almost 200m and tackled well Barlow was below par..

He also should not be taking up boxing this post season though...

He should be informed that if he chooses to play for Samoa at the end of the season, then he's free to choose a new club too.

I do recall that last time Jnr boxed in the off season, he came back very fit. It could be good for him to give footy a rest for a while. Hopefully he doesn’t play for Samoa. I don’t think he’s past it, just needs to get back to basics imo.

Yep ... agree

Tho i think there is more pride (and pressure) involved in representing their islander countries now, so i think he will probably play .... but here's hoping the boxing might help restore some shape.

Indeed you have to be fit to be a boxer but as some people have mentioned he is playing busted so if that's the case and he is boxing then plays the same as this year next year I would not be to impressed.

A with the club for letting him box
B With Jnr not putting the club first I will see this as a player who doesn't care about winning a competition just getting what he is worth.

I reckon most of our senior playing group have demonstrated money has come before winning a competition in 2023.

Matterson being a selfish tight arse.
Moses’ drawn out contract saga.
Origin players preferring to play in a meaningless game 3 and then going completely off the boil on their returns.
Paulo wanting to box in the off season.

There is no chance he’s boxing if he’s been playing busted. He’s just lost confidence and form and maybe playing a bit heavy.

A strong club & coach would sit down and talk with Junior after next week. And go you had a below par season.

You need a break we strongly recommend you pull out of Samoa this season to freshen yourself up for 2024.

If his form was still elite it wouldn't be an issue.

But a hectic past 2 years has caught up with him and he needs a proper break.

I don't have an issue with the boxing as you have to be pretty fit to be doing that and it might trim him down.

I wouldn’t even bother playing him next week.

Right, so he could be playing better if he wanted to ? Because form is a choice ?

Yep. Time to start preparing for next year now.
If I was an eternal optimist I would say we need him on Thursday because we need to beat the Panthers.
A few games go our way and we can finish 8th.

Of course we won't win against Panthers so it's all a waste and we should just let the Reggies team run out on Thursday night.

1. Miller-Stephen
2. Dunster
3. Moimoisea
4. Asi
5. Blake
6. Lynn
7. Drown (c)
8. Makatoa
9. Hands
10. Ogden
11. Murchie
12. Keir
13. Rodwell

14. Lussick
15. RCG
16. Ofahanguae

We should have been doing that months ago instead of spending cash on Offa and Lussick.

Promote Yates and Moretti to the top 30 front load other merkins with the money saved and the Money from Hodgson missing half the year. ..

This week we should be going btw

Reg
Lussick
Barlow
Moretti - Played there in Jnrs
Matto - Replace him with Carty after 20
Hopgood

Btw unless a few teams have points stripped we can't make the 8 even mathematically.

South have a bye next weekend puts them on 30. 32 if they win today Knights on 29

I think that better form for Jnr could be manufactured in a way by simplifying his job, similar to what I think we have done with Carty. Sometimes I think he is in 2 minds about being a skill full ball player and running hard. His best games this year are when he just rips in and shelves the pass. Less minutes, balls to the wall hit ups and suddenly his form would look pretty good, I guarantee that. Of course, that would also mean we need to control possession better but that’s another issue. And BA needs to abandon the notion that because he’s a higher payed player he needs to be on the field longer.

There's usually a reason for poor form, and for proven performers it's unlikely to be a sudden shit attitude.
