Seriously, Aitken has gotta go.
He was absolutely woeful tonight.
Cost us a try with that no-effort play on Hughes when he slipped over and wasn't dived on. He has offered Saints zero all year.
I agree, one thing Aitken use to bring was effort but just standing there allowing Hughes to pass the ball off the ground was disgraceful. If lomax is fit aitken should be playing CC.

Infuriating press conference.
He doesn't expect to win.
He knows that he isn't playing finals.
He has all the excuses ready to go.
He is thinking about next season already.
He's proud of the boys.
Infuriating.

I “ liked “ your post
But I really dislike Mary
He is so out of his depth it’s not funny

Pre match he talked up our chances
Post Match - full of excuses

Got to hand it to Melbourne , they play a very tight brand of football. In the second half when the rain came couldn't understand why they just didn't bomb away to our back 3 , but they continuously went for the sideline to keep us down in our territory. Similar to how we used to play in 2010 !

The difference is they have a coach that that can adapt and change his coaching style to accommodate the opposition and weather .......

Mate pleased you won some cash.....but seriously backing Lats to score the first try !!!!....it was obvious you must have been heavily intoxicated before you placed the bet......next week you will be telling us you backed Aitken for man of the match

Sorry Samy, have to disagree.

Host is a good starter but he's not an 80 minute player. We need to factor in an interchange for him early in the second half. He's been tiring around the 50th minute for weeks now. There were a couple of shirt grabs there that lead to at least 1 try tonight and there's been a few defensive lapses in previous games as well. At this early stage in his career, he needs a break in the second half.

Field isn't ready for first grade. There were a heap of last tackle plays that died with him. He needs more time in reggies if we are going to keep him. Backup only at this stage.

Luc is good in spurts but also tires quickly if left on too long. They were picking him off close to the ruck and making some easy meters when targeting him.

Lawrie doesn't make an impact. It's like watching someone hit a brick wall every time he runs.

These guys might be good in time, but at the moment they don't look like they are ready for the NRL. At least not week in week out.

Didn't get to see much of Kerr, Kaufusi or Allgood. They weren't on for long. But they seemed to do a reasonable job when they got their chance.

Host is better off the bench and so if Mary is going to continue with Leilua in the middle, Host should be in the backrow rotation unless we have someone better come through. Ford may be the player who eventually displaces Host.

My thoughts.

Firstly, it was a brave effort, however, the conditions brought the teams closer together, imo. If there was no rain or strong wind I think Melb would have put a score on us.

Secondly, Aitken is as useless a footballer I have seen.
Just watched Storms last try over and over......Aitkens lack of awareness, urgency and effort was embarrassing....he should never play 1st grade again...then again most on here knew that before kick off didnt we
