Massive game for Spencer. This is his shot to us what he’s got.

let’s go Spencer!!

Not just him. Get to look at the fringe guys.
I don't think Hopgood has played with Yeo and Luai before
Chris Smith certainly hasn't played with this quality for a while

Good week to be in Bathurst so it misses most of this weather

this is going to be a tough game especially in making meters. tmay is a great inclusion and should help but this will be the game where spence and charlie both need to stand up.

Critter is the one who needs to stand up imo
yeah he has been a bit quiet lately. There seems to be a bit of a sit back and watch attitude. but the difference with critta and staines/spencer is their spots are up for grabs. Critta wont be dropped any time soon.

If O’Sullivan can kick to the standard he did 1st round the knights will hate turning around .Containg Dane gagai could be the key he has been on fire 1st 2 rounds

Kikau's the senior player in the forwards until the rest get back. Needs to continue stepping up. The game's won and lost up them middle. When Kikau does a big run the rest of the team lifts more then when any other guy does a big run. It means something more when a man mountain is running off the back fence.

Nothing wrong with Crichton's form. He has looked great to me.

Newcastle have the edge with Ponga and what looks like the better pack this week. Would love to see us get up here.

Honestly this side looks very weak this week. Half of them were reserve graders last year.

May, Tago, O'Sullivan, Salmon, Kenny, Hopgood and Smith. Staines to an extent also.

I rate us as a chance still. But this roster is pretty similar to the one tigers defeated at Origin time last year and not far off the one Eels pumped in the trial.

I think we have the better systems and game plan. Seem quite dependant on some brilliance from Pongs or Clifford, so keeping them quiet is going to be important.

Personally, I think we lose this weekend. Hope I am wrong.

Gould was of the opinion on 100% footy that Newcastle had everything go for them last weekend.

He claimed that some of their tries were lucky (his words not mine)

This week will show whether Gou'd view is correct or not.

I didn't watch the game carefully, so I can't really recall.

Nothing wrong at all but he's going to be the highest paid player on the field this week. Needs to get super involved

Critta and Staines will start looking better when Cleary comes back on that side. SOS has been good, but he can't be expected to have the combinations and understanding that Cleary has in just a few games.

No way is that bad

Api, Luai and Yeo are playing
May was halfback then - We have a proper 7 now. May not 7 and Kenny not hooker is much better

Yeo and Api will trouble the defence

Our left side is still intact

Even the guys who are coming in

People on here wanted May over Staines

Some people had Hopgood on the bench

Some wanted Chris Smith.

The side is still balanced enough to play our normal structure

And we match up pretty well in comparison across the board to them

You said similar about our team against Tigers last year.

Any one or two of those players is not an issue. But having 7 or 8 guys that are fringe reserve graders is quiet a big hit to the ability of this team. Sure they have potential. But needing 7 or 8 guys all delivering on their so far unproven potential is a pretty big gap between what we are capable of if everything goes perfectly and how these guys actually perform.

Our pack against tigers last year was VERY close to what it will be this weekend.

JfH, Leniu, Kenny, kikau, Sorensen, Eisenhuth, Salmon, Hopgood, Smith, Tago

We will be fielding nearly exactly the same pack this week. Swap Yeo in for fish. Add Koroisau in for Tago.

Backline is similar too. Rennings and Momirovski played last year. May / Tago this year. Quality is similar overall but less experienced.

Last year it was Burton instead of Luai. May instead of O'Sullivan. Many believe Burton is better than luai and may has had as many good games at 7 as SOS. Last year fans raved about our backup halves.

Honestly there's not much difference overall to the team Tigers beat. Everyone was confident because of all the potential guys had. But when you have 7 or 8 guys with potential rather than proven ability. You cant know exactly what you're getting. Just that it's nowhere near what we could expect if JFH, Martin, Leota, To'o and Cleary were playing.

I rate us as a chance. But acting like this is anywhere near guaranteed is idiotic.

We have enough of the normal structure to play our normal game.

The halves are no where near the same that is just crazy talk

Luai has played 50 games at half - played Origin, Won a comp
Burton had 5
May had zero games at half - SOS has 20

Chris Smith has played 40 FG games
Hopgood and Tago more experienced then back there

We lack go forward granted, defence will be strong. Kicking game decent
The class of the left side

Yeo is the best player in the comp. Never has a bad game. Did the ugly stuff last week very well but can create

3/4 of our premiership winning spine is there

So it is where you have your injuries
