Milf has never been super consistent so that is my worry.I’m torn on where I value Milf.
He’s still only 27 and should be entering his prime playmaking years. He’s easily our most skilled half right now and you’re not watching properly if you don’t think he’s providing us opportunities to score or apply pressure to teams, more so than our other halves. He’s not ideally what we need but he offers a threat. We’ve seen teases of him and Ponga combining and obviously that’s off the back off a few training sessions together. Something tells me it could be a great duel threat. But that’s a lot of hope they apply themselves to the best of their ability and the rest of the team is well coached around them
I think ideally you’d take him on a 1-year deal but I don’t think he’ll hang around for that and it might be too much to compete against the Dolphins.
So yeah, what’s the line for me I don’t know? I don’t think I’d like a 3-year 800k deal. I think I’d be ok with 2-year 600k possibly. I don’t know what the rate is though.
I guess you could take into account it looks like we’ll be offloading Clifford too. So that should free up around half of could go to Milf maybe?Milf has never been super consistent so that is my worry.
Yes he's miles aheaad of other options within the club, but overcommitting to him just because he isn't Crossland is a recipe for disaster. 2 yr max imo and cannot break 600k which is probably not a deal he takes.
That's definitely a gamble.Apparently we've made Milf an offer for 3 years. Up to him for now.
Dolphins reportedly are offering Milf 2 years. At this stage anyway.Hope the Dolphins blow us out of the water then. That's too many.
I read today they upped it to 3 to match oursDolphins reportedly are offering Milf 2 years. At this stage anyway.
Overspending on players not worth the $ is folly though mate, especially if we are talking multi year dealsWhat's the point of money in the bank? We want it spent on players. If we are going to overspend somewhere in the squad it should be the spine. Surely he isn't asking for more than 600k or 700k a season? Would be bonkers to let him go.

Id rather us hold onto cash and spend it when quality players come along
Whilst signing Milford for 3 years probably doesn’t fill everyone with confidence he’s probably the best option that’s available at the moment and at least he’s already at the club. I would expect him to improve after another offseason with the team and time to get in better shape from a proper training regime. Good halves are very hard to find and while he’s not an organiser he’s got X-factor in his game which we’re sorely lacking. I’d be ok with keeping him as long as we don’t go nuts and pay crazy money.
