I know what the club has said about going to the market for a fullback but...

I would really like to see us float a 1 year prove it deal to Locke. He is trying to put it back together in the QCup, is experienced, is apparently hungry for redemption and this would essentially be his last chance.

We don't need to play him in fg, he could compete for a spot while sharing time with Meaney in reggies. Gives us more depth for our backline if/when we need it.

I'm not in a position to assess whether he is up to it from a mental/attitude stanpoint, but it wouldn't take much for the Club to find out.
Manly turned him down in the off season after seeing him train. Not a fan. Lots of talent, but a dickhead.

I would take Locke on a contract for the rest of the year. Would require a character-test interview with Brown though.

Barry Toohey speculating that Pete Mat will be the next off-contract squad member we try to re-sign. Hopefully we do, versatile, cheapish I imagine, solid, has bought in and seems to be loving it here.

Agree. Pete cops a lot of criticism on here I don't know why. Would be happy to re-sign him on the cheap.

At worst he's a good depth player. Hopefully he's happy to stay for cheap. To his credit, I thought he was great yesterday.

Read a few reports suggesting that the offer for Matt Scott is still alive.

Nobody's thinking that a year off recovering from the ACL might actually extend his career and make that 3rd year better in the long run?

Possibly just panic at the possibility of missing out on any big name signings with money pouring out of our knickers. Kinda like how we ended up with Hodko, I guess.

Surely this ACL tear is cause for a re-think on the offer. Still making one I assume, but revised amounts?

Surely the cows would be using this as a negotiating chip with him.

Oh shit, Slots will be spewing if this is true.

You would have to think that both offers would be significantly reduced although the Cowboys would know him better than the Knights and would be in a better position to know what he is like in rehab and what are his chances of coming back close to 100% and how long that might take?

And when Ponga comes next year, Locke can move to centre?

This is good for us, he'll hopefully get to play with the big boys for a few weeks and get some more experience under his belt.

If he does what we hope and destroys is and Green is serious about winning this might keep him.in the squad all year . Though they will need 4 big blokes with Scott done in short term.

Some good comedy over there. I pop in for a look every now and again. I quite like the comment from the bloke claiming there is less trolling here now!
