Elliott isn't a world beater but he is abit different to the straight running, no ball skill forwards we have in abundance. He's not as aggressive as Barnett or as big as Fitz but he's actually got abit of footy about him, abit of footwork, under rated passing game, can play middle, edge or dummy half, massive upgrade on Mann, Crossland, Jones, etc

Telegraph saying Elliott deal is 3 years $1.4m...
ffs that'll do me. That's 467K per year.

is it a 9.5 million cap ? = 317 K per annum average salary ( 30 man squad )

If Elliot is only a VERY average squad member ( at best ) - 467K per year is waaaaaay overs. Hope this report is wrong, we are on the way to f**king our cap - again.

I would offered him sub 317K per year as he's not worth anymore than that.

Maybe.
High flyers Newcastle and Canberra were fighting over Elliot, and he still managed to get close to 500k a season hehe

The Daily Telegraph, known bastion of truth.

I doubt Elliott got 1.4m over 3 years. 1.1 or so maybe.

If we could choose Elliott or Heatherington, who do we preference?

RAIDERS INENTIFY ELLIOTT REPLACEMENT

The Raiders have reportedly set their sights on Bulldogs enforcer Jack Hetherington as a replacement for outgoing forward Adam Elliott.

Elliott has recently informed his teammates of the decision to join the Knights next season (see below for more).

News Corp journalist Michael Carayannis told SEN that the Raiders have met with Hetherington, who is also being chased by the Knights.

“Newcastle have signed Adam Elliott, and they met with Jack Hetherington, the Canterbury forward a couple of weeks ago who’s off-contract,” Carayannis said.

“I think you’ll find the Raiders now may dip their toes into the Jack Hetherington discussion to bulk up their forward pack.

“That could be the consequence of signing Adam Elliott Newcastle, they might miss out on Jack Hetherington.

“They want to get both, they’ve got one and they’re still looking at the other one.”

Hetherington has a mutual option in his contract for next season, however it seems unlikely the Bulldogs will take up their end given it’s been reported that Hetherington has been given permission to explore his options for next season.
