Ricky would need his own wing at JHH for stroke and coronary stenting. We'd kill him
Flanagan’s best attribute would be bringing a tough edge to the side and holding players accountable. Whether he still has the tactical brain to coach a side in 2022 and beyond is the big question. Although it’s not like there are many other decent options out there.Get rid of him sure. Don’t want Flanagan though and not just because a terrible person.
The game has past him by judging by his meandering ‘expert analysis’
Who else is available?
I joked Hages the other week. Doing good things at the Cowboys it seems..Knowing the Knights though they'd probably get Stone back for a 3rd (?) crack
I remember a game between the Eels (coached by Hagan) and the Knights (coached by Brian Smith) in 2008 and Newcastle were giving Parra a towelling. Gus made the comment that watching this game was proof that it takes 18 months to build a club- and 18 months to destroy a club.
Kristian Woolf is the only viable option imo
No one would want Green or Flanagan
Gus's point was on the direct effect switching coaches had on both those teams. Knights (after Brian Smith's first year) were a good, hard-working squad. Not on the level of the Storm or Manly, but he had them looking like a top 4-6 side when Easts signed him away. Parra (under Hagan) went to shit. This was in response to the hypothetical of switching Bellamy and AOB with both current playing squads remaining the same. We've been s$#t for 18 years not months...
dont know that Id say Green holds players to account, by the end of his tenure he had a really bad tendency of sticking by underperforming playersIs Paul Green an option? Premiership winner back in 2015, currently out of a job, holds guys to account etc.
O’Brien clearly has lost the sheds. I expected to lose today and last week but for them to not give a single f**k 2 weeks in a row proves there is some obvious issues. Ponga needs to lose the captaincy as well
This is true. The main issue at the cowboys overs the last 4-5 years is that Green gave a bunch of big contracts to ageing players.dont know that Id say Green holds players to account, by the end of his tenure he had a really bad tendency of sticking by underperforming players
yep whilst allowing guys like Kikau, Braden Hamlin Uele, Brandon Smith, Corey Horbraugh and Jahrome Hughes walk out the door. This is true. The main issue at the cowboys overs the last 4-5 years is that Green gave a bunch of big contracts to ageing players.
and all the while the man who could have turned around our fortunes was laying idyle. That's supposed to be his job, but hiring a GM of Football with actual experience or expertise in building a football club would be too logical for the Knights. Buderus is there to smile for the cameras and repeat what he's told to by Gardner, who is even less qualified for the role.
Man, we could really use a Brian Smith right now...Gus's point was on the direct effect switching coaches had on both those teams. Knights (after Brian Smith's first year) were a good, hard-working squad. Not on the level of the Storm or Manly, but he had them looking like a top 4-6 side when Easts signed him away.
It's a damn shame about Brian Smith and how fondly I look back at his time here.Man, we could really use a Brian Smith right now...
I still laugh that people believe he destroyed this club because he wanted to change the toxic 'boys club' culture that still plagues us all these years later.
