This is our first dialogue on this topic. Instigated by you.

Seeings as you seem to know
What is the difference between wages for apprentice butchers and carpenters

what in our discussion was lame exactly?

that I would rather be a carpenter than a butcher?

I stand by that comment but understand if others may feel differently.

hang on

I was talking to quigs
Then you stuck your nose in

It was a sad attempt to get my attention.
You remind of another poster who I had to put on ignore.

Many years ago after moving up here to paradise I scored a job in the local abattoir - one of the big fharrkers in Rockhampton. It was a bit of a right of passage to live up here in The Park and that was to do a bit of time at the meatworks. I lasted 18months as a slicer until I sliced into a couple of my own fingers.

Off work, compo, then not the same job because they had other cannon fodder to fill my void whilst I recovered from the operation.

Anyway my point of this is I know a Parky bloke that still works there 'still'. He tells us that there are only 5 aussies left working in the chain where he works now. My memory I think the total per chain of workers was about 40. Including slicers, boners and others. Now apart from the 5 the rest are 457 visa guys.

Rockhampton the beef capital of the country.

I worked on a farm in 1991 in WA.
Myself, my 4 mates and the dude that drove the picker were the only Aussies working there.
Not even the boss was an Aussie.
There was about 50 people working there
Poms
Germans
Chinese
Portuguese
Dutch
You name it.

it’s been happening for ages.

Lol Its your choice to put someone on ignore if you cant handle your shite being questioned . I think its pretty much the definition of being obnoxious. .You obviouslly still seeing some of my posts just cant admit it now. lol! As far as getting your attention ? You post shite People dispute it .No one cares if you ignore it or not .Your stupidity is your own problem . Remain ignorant ! Good for you! If you want to have a shot at me have the guts to do so up front and cop the reply.

Because they're probably 16 years old.

Because sometimes things work out worse than you'd anticipated, especially when you don't have life experience.

It is usually better to not burn bridges, but then again, I don't know how bad it was. I do know that butchery has pretty much nothing going for it though.

Yep. A building trade is way better than being a butcher. In just about every possible way. The butcher apprentices might have turned into carpentry apprentices. If they did their lack of ambition to just stick at it probably did them well in the end.

Biggest looking 16 year olds I've seen.Mate they were at least 18.

You have to wonder ,when the guy had in the period I was going there ,about 4 young blokes.Maybe they just jumped into the first job opportunity that came up.

Most people don't like dirty jobs.I remember many years ago visiting an abattoir in Gunnedah ATT, watching the process of slaughtering the moosters, with the final stun gun to the head at the end. Couldn't eat a steak for a couple of months after. It's still an essential part of our lives for the non vegans.

All I'm saying is workers get screwed at times which we all know ,and likewise small business owners who take out loans and risks ,to start up businesses. And I've seen it from both angles over the years i've been working.

A carpentry trade and a builders licence down the line and you are set.

We got a winner in May last year, coming up for the 12 month anniversary. Some just can’t accept it.
I have no problem with him being PM I even voted for the guy,but what gets me is the hypocrisy of the Liberal party attacking the Labor over debt over the years..Especially over the global finacial crisis, Suddenly debts ok...I'm normally a Labor voter but I could not see myself voting for Shorten or anyother hack in the Labor party, That's including Albanese. It's not the Labor party I know, the Labor party stood for workers rights and now it's just stand for inner city issues.

umm, global warming effects entire planet. Most people with any understanding of the workings of scientific research, understand this.Effects are greater to planet (and long term the human race for that matter )as a whole than the pandemic. But carry on Peter .You make great arguements when you make the rules.

well theres employers, some really good ,some really bad,Not an easy gig unless you are just a sociopathic bully. then there's employees some who love their work and do it to best of their ability,,then theres bad ones that resent having to work ,have chip on shoulder ,and are more trouble than good , ...AND.... then theres the brown tongue sycophants that try to ingratiate themselves to the employers to get ahead.and very often do.......They are the worst......Thats another debate I guess
Just thought Id refresh my great edit .Poor Peter will miss out.I know how much he loved my edits. It was all he had I guess.....sigh...Alas poor Peter, I knew him well.

They only believe in Science when it suits their agenda. Once everything goes back to normal they will go back to believing in a made up person in the sky

You’ve seen the light. Well done.
Absolutely, I will definitely vote for him especially on his stance against China. Even though he sold our water, vast amounts of land, businesses,Ports , government assets and secrets to China. Let's hope we stop trading with China, who needs phones, clothes, shoes,Bunnings, Kmart, you name it. Government probably needs to worry about a federal ICAC before pissing in China's pocket.

Oh yeah, Scomo did all of that. You can see how cozy he is with the Chinese right now.

Maybe albo should set up a brown paper bag session at the local Chinese restaurant to smooth things over eh?
