Stadium staff and service.....

I really don't want to be narky here Sevens, truly I don't. But trust me, I am not buying you a beer.

I knew there was considerable problems with the Stadium agreement in January. I heard tell of them which I alluded to but couldn't say outright on this forum, the issues were in relation to Merchandise and the commission from our sales the stadium was asking for. I got on the BAT-PHONE, and had a chat with some people about it made a few connections spoke to a few people and then all of a sudden it appears that those things had changed in February, and that Mossy and the Stadium had come to an agreement.

However with a HR move from the club we still can't see any income or profitability from it. Such a shame.

My Bat-phone seemed to work fine for Round 1 when the patrons in my area were complaining about the volume of the new ground announcer, All of a sudden the volume was adjusted to a more acceptable level.

Just quietly on the ground announcer, he could do to SHUT UP for 5 minutes after the game NYC game so patrons can actually talk to each other.

It is just a pity you feel it is okay to as you put it "Put the Slipper in" while asking everyone to be civil and work of the one cause.

I remain as ever a keen observer of this club, and as I did with the previous administration when I see a problem, I will say something about it. I don't need to compare the present with the past, unlike some.

As to my mail on the Stadium, I don't know much more than what I have stated, but some insiders on both sides of politics have tipped to me that if we have a Liberal State Government, the trust would be dissolved and management would be put up for Tender with Tennant's having first option.

By the way Terry, you don't need to use my name every sentence Terry, it really comes off poorly Terry.

I wondered why the merchandise caravan inside the Cronin gate was shut.
Not good enough. Why would the stadium trust bring this issue up now I wonder. :sarcasm:
Also, I got into the ground and THEN wanted to buy a programme. Couldn't find one anywhere.
What's the go with that???

Sevens, it's good to hear that when the current deal is up, the club will be trying to drive a harder bargain with the trust. That is, if I read your quote correctly.
That's all anybody around here wants, as well I suppose as those who don't post here. The way the joint is run at the moment is getting beyond a joke, and a lot of people are disatisfied.
Just on a personal issue, I had two security guards chatting beside myself and my son (7) on Sunday, and the language was deplorable. I wasn't offended, but it's not the sort of stuff that I want a seven y.o. to hear. They didn't stop until I asked them to pull their heads in. I know that's not your issue, just thought it was worth a mention.

I will ring Luke Coleman and ask him the give security a heads up about language, particularly amoung kids. Luke would be disappointed with an attitude such as that.

As far as I can figure it, that is not really a Stadium Trust issue. For the last few years the club has contracted ISC the company that does our Merchandise to do the Game day Merch sales as well. The old "Club owned" Merch wagons are in the Leagues Club Car park and havn't been used for a few years now.

Previously ISC bought normally 2 caravan Trailers and a load of Staff to run them and the stalls inside the Stadium. With the Stadium trust getting its cut from those (Stalls) sales.

This year the club moved to run the Merchandise stuff itself, instead of letting ISC do it, that is why we had a Retail manager. The Retail managers job was to get the BGAHQ store running then also get game day sorted.

With the new administration of the club looking to maximize every potential earn the club could get, they balked at the % cost the Stadium wanted of all their takings from the Stadium stalls.

Later on I was told Mossy had negotiated with the Stadium to drop that as part of our Hire Fee.

The Wagons in the Forecourt were always going to be Free of the % of takings charge from the Stadium Trust

However we are now as far as i can tell without a full time retail manager, and the only thing we can do is borrow a merch truck off the NRL until ours is finished, last I heard at the start of March before we lost the Retail manager was that the truck would be ready by the end of March or maybe the start of April.

When I worked the Gosford game in the merch van, it was a loaner from ISC, (as was the Car I had to tow it with). Funnily enough that van was out front of the Cronin Stand on Sunday, stocked with Manly Gear, in Prime position vs our van over the other side, but considering our was a generic NRL van and theres was a Blue van we had used for the Trials, I wonder how many people got confused and after seeing it was a Manly van just gave up.

I am not sure if either van was selling the Big League. We get ours Thursday nights when we do the weekly shopping.

So it might be that the club can not find volunteers to run it those stalls.

I use peoples names because it is a sign of respect MARK, but it is nice to see you have not lost your sense of humour, even though you wont buy me a beer.

As far as bringing up the past, I only answer what you have put forward.

On the announcer, his name is Mark too Mark, and he is doing a great job, and everyone I have spoken has applauded what he has done thus far, except you Mark, and Denis Fitzgerald who hates Mark Warren, what a coincidence.

I don't hate him, he has done well for the most part but early in the day he could not speak during certain things, it would enhance the game day experience for those members that enjoy watching the NYC.

Didn't mean for you to have to do anything mate, but your efforts are greatly appreciated.
Thankyou very much.

I will be happily enjoying the Gold Members Seating for those games, without a shadow of a doubt. At least at ANZ they treat the members with a little respect.

And so you should.

At least at ANZ, you can be catered for quickly, both food and drinks. You don't have to take a piss in smelly toilets, and the video screens are clear and easy to see from ALL seats. I'll give up atmosphere any day for decent facilities.

Depending on how things go, I could throw you one of my Gold Membership guest passes for the Round 8 game Vs the Bulldogs and you can see the how it is up there?

Your choice of course.

Cheers. Hard to knock an offer back like that. I'll be in touch after I have determined my movements for that match.

He is a good thing mate, and he is under instructions by two way to speak when told by staff in the control box. The board love what he is doing, management love him, but more importantly the sponsors think he is sensational as their company names are loud and clear for all to hear.
Everything is still being fine tuned two games in.

Suity I have spoken with Luke, and he said with respect, he cannot take complaint from annonymous participants on forums, but if you wish to make complaint to please address it personally to his notice and he will handle the matter personally.

Thank you for your efforts.
Shame he didn't take it on board though - it's not the sort of stuff I make up. A passing comment from him to his staff couldn't have been too hard.
I will seek out his email address and forward something onto him.

Cheers Terry.

Hence why I am providing feedback.

Indeed I have provided that feedback to the stadium via their email address and cc'ed the club via its game day address.

No Suity he took it very seriously and asked for you to make complaint. He took it on board and he at no time implied you made it up.
