Would be great if fans could be somewhere in that sentence too...

He's an improvement on his Roosters supporter predecessor, but I agree there is still tweaking to do.... I find myself tuning out and not hearing sponsors names (or much of what he is saying to be honest), because there are not enough gaps, and it becomes a bit of a drone for 15 minutes?

My suggestion would be to utilise the board more, to break up the speaking/noise. As MITS said, silence straight after NYC so fans can talk to each other while they compose themselves after that game, then some talking, then a break for some silence and maybe just some video footage (excerpts from the history DVDs, serves a dual purpose to promote what merch is available), then some talking, then the ex-player interview feature on the big screen (which has gone down well), then the final pre-match introduce the player talking.

And not have him trying to say those ridiculously long Eels numbers for each player. Have it on the screen, and make a general statement at the start promoting them as member numbers, but then get him just to say the jersey numbers as he reads the names please?

Thanks in advance for considering the suggestion.

You were actually going quite well until that line, and you did well after that line but FMD....................compose ourselves for what or from what?
To take a piss? Get a hotdog. Read the programme? Buy a bottled water?

Compose ourselves??? :lol::lol::lol:

Probably wouldn't if personal insults and abuse were kept from some forumers comments, but these issues are up to each and every forumer to control I suppose.

Well done Sevens and Mits. I feel it's been a productive day all round, and can see the role that this forum plays in action as well as outside influences beyond these walls.

Suity

One would hope that you are including those from both sides of the great divide there, Paul.

All or any of the above. Basic point being most people don't like or need some guy on a mic ranting at them straight after a siren, they have other things to do and won't listen to his words.

Well said, now comes the real test...

So you and I think everyone in this Thread is going to love this.

I sent an E-mail to the E-mail address listed in the thread about my complaints Tuesday.

I received a reply, just now stating that for all future Eels events, the gates would be closed between the Grand Stand and the Concourse.

Sanity has prevailed.

I actually like the fact the gates are open and we can move around and talk to friends and also walk near the back of the dressing sheds.

That is the danger in listening to complaints, the most vocal are not necessarily the majority. Anyone who had found their way to the shorter beer queue will now be cut off.

Sorry to say, but it appears you are in the minority Jodeci. Many long term members on the Cronin side were up in arms about this Sunday. Maybe because there are no dressing rooms per se on the Cronin side.

Personally I am much happier with this outcome. It wasn't the change that was the problem is was the inconvenience and lack of man power to implement the change that was the bigger problem. Something it seems to Stadium lacks in many areas.

Minority?

because 5 people have complained about it, I'm in the minority?

you need to look outside this forum MITS and ask the rest of the members

we cant simply rely on LU supporters

but then again there will be people who like and dislike, it's part of life

How very presumptuous of you, to think I am talking about this Forum, or 5 people.

I know that you have moved over to the other side of the stadium, and that is fine, I have no issues with that, but as such you were not in the Cronin Stand. You didn't walk past the ushers, you didn't hear and listen to the many people I spoke with during Sundays game, all of whom to a person were ranging from perturbed to exceptionally PISSED OFF at the changes caused by opening these gates.

Hell I even had people I know who sit in the concourse perform reconnaissance tasks to ensure I had a full picture of what was going on.

Maybe even those in the Thornett stand would be annoyed i can't really tell as I wasn't there and wont make that assumption but, I would say the only people happy about this would be people seated in the concourses, and as far as i know, Member numbers in the grandstands, far out way those in the Concourses, 2:1. hence why I safely said, that it would appear that you are in the Minority.

Indeed it would seem the weight of feedback either written or received by the staff on the day has caused the Stadium Trust to reverse its decision.

I must say I felt for the poor usher, who is a regular in the Cronin Stand, she coped it from most of the regulars all afternoon and I wonder what her feedback to the debrief session would have been.

Bart I did not intentionally leave out fans, and I have spoken to plenty over the last 2 weeks, particularly the harsh markers in bay 47, and mate I have not had anyone bag him as yet, they love the atmosphere created. You have to understand that Mark is on two way being told not only by our staff, but also Tony Chalmers who is directing for Nine, and Mark has a lot to fit in with all the sponsors who want their name yelled for all to hear. Mark also has to time around Nine and 2GB doing pre-game lead ins, as they cannot have Mark talking over the top. The player introductions with the membership numbers, I will put forward your opinion, but have a bit of a thought for Mark rattling those numbers off one after the other, I think he has done a fantastic job, and everything he has done has been under instruction, he just adds his flare. It was nice in round one to have Father and Son working our ground from pitch level and commentary box, and Rabs is a very proud Father.........but Rabs and I have discussed at length there are some who will death ride Mark no matter what he does, so please all of you put a bit of thought in any criticism and be constructive, as Mark is Blue and Gold through and through, a Marist boy, and spent his whole life in our district, he loves this club as much as we do. Bart the fans are our heart and soul, but our sponsors are our life blood, and it is Marks job for those sponsors to be plastered in your memories to support those who support our club, and for success there has to be sacrifice, so mate I am sorry if your chat is interrupted, but time your chat Bart, there are plenty of gaps in Marks announcements...I take on board what you have put forward though....Cheers 7s.

Mark

My brother still sits in the Cronin and we still have 8 season tickets there.

It's simply my opinion, there will be people who agree and disagree hence why I mentioned it's part of life that we have multiple thoughts from all people.

Like I said, I didn't mind it because you can free roam and say hi to family and friends instead of being restricted.

From memory, its the first time in years that you can walk across the back of the sheds and talk to various officials.

I didn't realise that people really cared whether the gates are open or closed.

How fickle have we become???

The hot chips are cold, i can only get 2 beers, the lines are long for food, etc

simple, eat before the game, drink at the Leagues club before the game or take your own refreshments instead of whinging.

there are more important issues in life then this.

i'm gonna call the trust and tell them what I want because it seems to work around here.

why cant we get foot warmers in winter and free bottled water in summer?? I might ask the trust this.

i may as well
