If its not the pinaccle why do the sheep lovers pick a state? SOO is what keeps RL relevant evey year. Without SOO the game would be nothing. Nobody cares about tests and your average RL fan probably can't remember the last test played let alone something that happened in it yet we have Origin moments out of the arse.

I love tests, Ive been to every Int'l played in Brisbane in the last 6 years and I get up to watch the ones played in the UK live

However, they mean far less to me than SOO does.

when your cricket team gets bundled out of the world cup earlier than NZ, your union team gets trundled out of the world cup early by NZ, your soccer team cannot go undefeated like NZ in pool play of the world cup, your league team can't seal the deal in the final and loses to NZ, I guess origin is one thing that cannot be taken off you by NZ, a nation of 1/5 the population, no matter how many Kiwis are selected to play.

AUstralia is still a sporting nation right? Just domestic sport now? You might as well follow AFL if you have no patriotism an international game. Sooks.

SOO is without doubt the pinnacle of the Australian sporting landscape and is up there with the Melbourne Cup. It now has the tradition and a truly tribal following.

I was at the game last night and the atmosphere was superb. The crowd really lifted NSW when they needed it most.

I love test match footy but NZ and England/GB still have a long way to go before test matches are at the top of the food chain.
