It does sound like a great idea doesn't it! But when you purchase your season ticket you are doing so from the Parramatta NRL club, I can't see a way for them to give membership to the Parramatta District Rugby League Club.

Pretty simple really....... the money pretty much ends up in the same office. The take the key ring from the PDRLC and put it in the envelope that they send out the ST in. The PNRL then draw a cheque and pay PDRLC from the money banked for STH's. It isn't rocket science.

Then that could look like branch staking. Unless there is a $25 price increase in season tickets to cover it. Then if there is you would have to make it optional. Like the did the year the Blue and Gold army was part of the Season tickets, and Blue and gold membership fell drastically.

Hench there is the problem MITS, the 2 should be one. Surley the Leagues club could underwrite them to make sure wages are paid etc.?

The Leagues club underwrote the football club for many years, actually it still does, but there are other issues, like taxation on grants that the club could be stung on.

There is a long history to this issue. The members voted to give the leagues club the NRL license to operate. Not much more I can say about it from there, except Season Tickets have been sold at Parramatta since the 1970's they have always been sold as season tickets and never in that time have the included membership to the football club.

Took the words write out of my mouth (or page)!!

Simply ask the question: Would you like to pay an additional $25 and become a voting football club member!!!

Yes or No!!

Absolutely not rocket science, in fact I would think it is closer to common sense. Something our current structure has very little of. EG: PROXY'S!!

Then it gets all confused with Blue and Gold Army membership on the same form.

It would be titled football club membership and not voting football club membership as new people would still have to wait their 3 years out.

and we are not in the 70s anynmore, and it's time the clubs mindset modernised.

MITS, it goes back to the whole original problem of advertising memberships. The club don't want to offer memberships, just season tickets, and hide the fact that the PDRLC exists. They know that most Leagues Club patrons are only worried about the price of the lamb roast in the bistro so they cover their arses either way.

Giving the STH's a true membership to the club is both a simple process and a money making one...... promoting the club every chance they get should be their main aim.

If it is outlined in the STH booklet that the option to become a member of the PDRLC is available simply by signing an enclosed form and passing it in with your membership I am sure more people would look to become involved.

Well if that is your opinion, the please pass that on to the club for their consideration. I have asked the question I have received the reply I have put that to everyone here. You don't like it, take it up with the club, I am just telling you how it is.

I think if your RENEWING your STH then you should be entitled to voting rights. I know you are not BUT it is my opinion that you SHOULD!!

It's not confusing at all. It is a yes or no question with a $25 commitment.

If you want confusion (which the current board want and more importantly need) how about the format and the structure currently in place. It's actually embarrassing:x

Even if that was accepted, you would have had to be a renewing season ticket holder for 3 years. I was quite careful in what I wrote when I said "new people" meaning the target audience for the season ticket holders.

So you don't think a form with Season Tickets, Blue and Gold army, and PDRLC on it would be confusing for John Q Parrafan? I found the written form confusing without the PDRLC.

Not if the rules are changed. Most people however tend to be long term STH's. You could make season ticket holders who have held a ST for five consecutive years immediately eligible.

Worded properly it shouldn't be too difficult.

I do, and I would think that since so many clubs had Season ticket Holders before the NRL's membership push that to call it a Membership so it is like an AFL club is lazy marketing on their part.

No I think it would be straight forward.

MITS do you think it is fair for the club to ask you to be a STH but then restrict you from having a say in how your club operates?

Makes me think twicwe about being a STH???

Am I really wanted or just my $cash$???

Lazy? Why? TBH, it seems more lazy on our part.

How many other clubs havent come into line?

What figure will we use?

B&G Army?
STH?
Football Club?

My answer would be all three. Structure and advertise all three as different membership levels. So B&G and football club could be inclusions or (if losing money is a concern), optional ad ons?

For eg, a STH + B&G + Football Club = Platinum Member. Or something like that.

It shouldnt be hard......unless there simply isnt a will within the club to encourage more memberships.....

Yes I believe it is fair because with the STH I am buying a service. With the Membership I am putting myself at a (limited) financial liability with the club and hence I would demand a say.

Honestly, Stop recycling my Ideas as I came up with that one around April this year, and it was sent to the club in the report.

Now I still see the Football Club Membership as a different company, and I can understand the restriction, Kinda like getting a Sony big screen TV from Harvey Norman's then expecting Sony to make you a share holder.

It will be interesting to see our Season Ticket Holder Numbers this year.
