tahu making origin??
i love the guy n he was in great form before he left prob best centre in the game in 07 but with the morris boys n jennings runnin around would be REAL tough i reckon
ill be happy with a real consistent n hopefully injury free season...see him put inu in for a couple of tries n really help him mature into some solid consistent footy

I haven't read any of this thread but my own 2 cents is that this is a superb coup for the club.

The past 4 weeks has seen some real progress with the side starting to play the football they are capable of.

We all identified earlier in the season that our problem areas were the forwards and halves with one or two question marks in the backs.

Well with Cayless starting to play some good footy, Hindy back to his best, Fui playing very well and Timmy Mannah looking the goods, there are positives to be pleased with. Add Poore and Shackleton to that plus Mato back and suddenly there is an excellt pack.

The halves - Robson is actually playing quite well for a makeshift half but more importantly Mortimer is a star in the making and Keating will add plenty of spark when he returns (even though I see him as a dummy-half in the future).

All of sudden Tahu comes back. He was superb in 2007 in both defence and attack. With Hayne the form player of the comp now at fullback and Reddy having become a genuine first-grader we have some strike.

Even Burt - who I have been critical of in the past - is playing very well on the wing.

Good things in the making from what I can see.

do you think once sterlo comes on board we will piss johns off...honestly we have gone backwards since hes been here..
I wouldn't blame Johns for parra's poor form.

The thing i find with joey is that while there is no doubt he was the greatest player of all time, when it comes to coaching and teaching, he can only teach the basics. You cant teach what John's had, he was a freak, we can't expect him to turn robson into the best half back in the nrl. No one will come close to Johns, he changed the game.

I think his brother matty would make a better coach.

Exactly right Ian, you can't teach people vision.

And skill levels can only be honed to the maximum that an individual possesses.

Wally Lewis was a great player but a terrible coach

But we don't need to pay Andrew Johns to be a halves consultant any more, hopefully.

As has been said, the Bulldogs severed his services this year, and haven't looked back!

I don't know which sterlo and joey you were watching, but they both had great running games and always threatened the defensive line you monkey.

Why is it, you want TS back at the club. The board has made it clear they don't want drunks at the club. GET OVER IT.

Lol...don't get your panties in a twist Daisy, chill out. Maybe the point won't go so far over your head

I think if Timmy head was screwed on right, Johns could've made him a super super star

Timmy had the natural talent.

I still can't forget the time when we we trapped in our own territory and he kicked to the winger who flew down the flank. I was in awe of his vision and his accuracy in execution and the odacity

Are you thinking of the Warriors game? If so, he kicked it to Petersen's wing inside our own 20 and it went through like 13 sets of hands before Sideshow Bob ended up scoring in the corner.

I remember reading an article a few years back which commented that the reason great players are rarely great coaches is because what they did came naturally. By contrast, many "solid" or "journey men" players go on to become great coaches because everything they did was learned and they then go on to pass on these lessons
