I'm running Canberra now, missed out on hitting the lash with CWB.

On that, this week sucks for me sorry man. I didn't want to post too much on FB because not many people know about the Grandma's lymphoma and she'd prefer it that way at this stage...but between that, being my long week, uni I'm just having a shit week or two mentally. Definitely not un-keen :p

All good man, it's a 6 week rotation down to Canberra, so I will be back soon enough. Hope life stops kicking you in the balls soon.

Is it about the Penn State coach?

Yep. Its really good despite the topic. Very subtle, and amazing insight to the culture.

she can't murder you if she doesn't know where you are hiding...

Those old people in my apartment block are crafty...

You employ well...

Looks like I'm in Africa for the foreseeable future. At least until mid September, but the boss has slated me sticking around until December so I can tackle the UAE, Slovenia, and Uganda in addition to the already planned famils to Rwanda, Kenya, and the Congo.

Tough life.

Your life is a dream, sometimes. I wish I could do it...

As I tell the others who express envy: I have no retirement plan, no long term job prospects, no possessions worth more than a PC, and no romantic prospects.

Most days it's worth it.

It is a brave choice to live the life you do. Most of us follow the path well trodden, house, kids & career. We all end up in a box at some point. Life is far too short to do it all. I wouldnt give up my kids for anything, but the rest of it can be overrated compared to what you are doing.

McLaren Vale beers are looking for a NSW rep.

Thanks for the heads up, but tbh I have no background in the industry and I'm no salesman.

For the first few months I'd be the stay at home dad to keep some consistency for mini smbn, and the wife's career is what we are working on, so repping and travel wouldn't be an option.

That's what I tell myself  Future Chris can worry about scavenging change for tins of beans and packets of migoreng.

I reckon there is a good chance you will find something financially rewarding on your chosen path. Keep your eyes open & there are opportunities everywhere. A teaspoon of Rhino semen would be worth a packet in China. How you extract it from the Rhino is up to you. Seriously though, from what I gather this current gig could have some legs?

For the duration of my time here (2-4 months) it's paying $1000 USD + all living expenses and whatever I can bring in through my other freelance gigs at the same time.

Once I'm on the road, it drops back to $500 + whatever commission I make from being the sole point of contact for Asia-Pacific safari sales. There's potential for it to be a huge earner if I find the market and effectively tap into it.

Take him out to dinner first?

Also, one way I like to mess with the Wife is to move things around in the kitchen. When she expresses surprise at finding something elsewhere I'll deadpan tell her it's always been there.

Nice one! A thousand a month? That goes a long way in plenty of places.

It's more than adequate here, especially with room & board covered.

I swear, getting a credit card was the worst decision I ever made. If I didn't have it hanging over my head, I'd be living off the blog earnings someplace tropical with a pretty girl bouncing on my balls.

I prefer having sex with them, but to each their own. :sarcasm:

Sounds like quite an exquisite life.

Still don't have one.

They're a stupid idea. Pay with someone else's money and then pay someone else back.

Use your own money. If you don't have enough, then that's that.

The Wife has one, i considered getting one in order to build a credit history but realised I had no interest in playing such a stupid game.

If any potential financial dealings are canned by the other party because I don't have 'credit history', then that's their call. The fact we've paid off a home loan in under 10 years on very modest incomes should be all the proof any sensible creditor needs.

Worst thing is that I've twice now been in the position where the card was paid off and I could have cancelled it. Instead, I've managed to twice run it back to being maxed out and had to pay it slowly back again.
