Great. Just so long as you don't expect him to run close to any defenders.

Holy shiet, that's terrible money. I hope it's not true, can you imagine being Luke and seeing a good mate in SJ go, being injured and coming back to training late AND being on shit coin?
Scary if true.

Even if it is, surely the money we've saved from his downgrade hasn't all been used yet?

I'd take $350k thank you very much :grinning:

If that's shit money you must be a billionaire?? JK:grin:

Luke has a reputation for being far too bro, and trying to appear staunch. Can get an attitude on the field. He is aging and has significant injury issues. There was nothing to attract anyone. And I believe the Knights pulled their offer after a medical they had requested. Pretty sure it was a mediocre offer and only for 1 year.

Big concern for Luke is the lack of pre season. Historically he hasn't done great without a solid pre season. Hope the shoulder isn't too bad

Brian Smiths comments I find interesting, “we didn’t get to sit down and have a discussion”. If that was the way they wanted to go with him, the best way to do it would have been face to face rather than through the media when they went public with their side of things while he was on tour with the Kiwis

Depends who you choose to believe. If Kearney did as he says and rang him in the UK then it would depend on what SJ said in reply,,... Talk to my manager and I will see you next year?
Both parties only telling their side of the story - and Brown in the middle; already on the outer with the Warriors. Yeah, I can see Brown stirring things along a bit.

Anyway what's done is done. Time to move on.

They tried to get in contact with him before the tour. No response. Media got wind of it somehow & asked about it & an acually honest response was given. Maybe they should've gobe PR speak instead

Stuff reporting we've made enquiries about Titans half AJ Brimston.

Not sure how I feel about this. For me, either let the newbies get on with it, or get someone like Nikorima, a BIG step up with decent first grade experience and fits our roster.

AJ doesn't quite fit either, is he highly regarded?

He's terrific much rather him than Nikorima

You would have to pay way overs.

Gold Coast born and bred.

Kid will be a star, sadly for QLD.

Quite a few good names being chucked around for the halfback spot. Can't wait to see who Kearney settles on.

If we go to a semi final next year then Kearneys three year process would be a success IMO. If we do not make the semis and have a below par season, then Johnsons departure will be one of the things that Kearney critics will look at. Especially if Shauns Sharks team sails right past us.

Speaking of the Sharks - with the inclusion of Johnson, there could be some high expectations from the fans for their team to do really well. They could be under some pressure to perform because IMO, they're going to the 8 just by looking at their team.

WE on the other hand...hmmm....

And yes we Sharks expect at least a GF, anything less would be a failure.

Kearney doesn't make the final calls on recruitment. That's O'Sullivan and Smiths job. Take your Kearney trash to the Sack Kearney thread Mr Angry..
