some very ordinary dialogue....in fact cringe worthy at times.

It's not bad, per se...It's just that it's been hyped up SO much...And it's nothing unique or special...Quite frankly, I didn't even find it to be much of an inspiration at all, and I'm a Will Smith fan...:?

This received lousy reviews when it was released and, while I haven't seen the original version, I thought it was pretty good. Quite a clever piece of black humour - Hanks was brilliant.
